I'm sorry if I already made this topic, but I don't think I have.
I am now 8 months on T and I've been getting HORRIBLE cramps. They're not period cramps, haven't had that since I started, and they don't tend to follow a cycle, they're pretty random. They've also been getting worse. I am going to bring it up to my doctor again at my next appointment.
Did anyone else experience this, and if so, did it stop without a hysterectomy?
I got cramps one night a month ago that were pretty bad and I freaked out cause they felt like the old period cramps, and like you I haven't had that happen since starting T.
For me it happened the day before shot day (I'm biweekly) so I freaked out even more thinking my T levels were low and estrogen kicking back up or something so I did my shot a day early lol. It's the only time it's happened to me tho so idk. I can't speak for if it will stop with a hysterectomy as I haven't had one.
I had PCOS and endometriosis since puberty so I had severe cramps frequently. I continued to have cramps and pain (pinching/pressure pain) even after starting T though I didn't have periods after the second month on T. My doctor said that some guys continue to have pain and that the only thing she has seen help was a hysterectomy. She referred me to OB and given my plan to stay on T for life and my past history (2 previous surgeries to remove endometriosis and cysts), she recommended a hysterectomy. I ended up having that in February this year and since healing from the surgery, I am pain free in my pelvis for the first time since I was 12 :)
So for me, a hysterectomy helped. I haven't heard of many guys who had the pain and didn't end up having a hysterectomy at some point so I'm not sure if it is something that could improve eventually.
I had some bad cramping when I went off T for a few weeks for surgery. I think it started either a week and a half or two weeks off, and continued until a few days after I did my shot again. I was very worried that my monthly subscription to Lucifer's unholy waterfall was returning, but thankfully, nothing happened. I haven't had anything since.
I would talk to your doctor about it and see what they advise. I know mine has said that if I have any kind of pain down there (or other abnormalities), she will want to do an exam and potentially refer me to have things removed.
Ok thanks guys :P I was worried that'd be the answer but I was expecting it :/

One thing you could do is recall what you had to eat up to a few days before cramps...
did you eat large amounts of something with high amounts of phytoestrogen, like soy products ?
Did you have a lot of stress previously during those times ?
Meditation/relaxation exercises might help...
hugs
I get bad clamping for a day before I start every month. I was hoping ithey would all stop once I got on T, now I am afraid they willn't stop. I do want to get a total hysto in a few years, so glad to hear that will definitely stop them. Thks for the information even thou it isn't what I wanted to hear.
I had been on depo provera shot every 3 months for about 2 years ..they had stopped my periods and it was awesome and i had finally started T about 2 months ago. During these 2 years i havent had one period cramp or very much bleeding at all. But last week, 3 days before my hysto surgery. i got SEVERE cramps. I could hardly work.. it was like my uterus knew it was going to die and needed to reek some vengeance on me lol. I even had cramping the day after but not as bad. I cant say it was T related bc I had to not give myself my T shot that week to prevent risks with blood clots for my surgery. It was definitely strange though.
wkly1269, sorry to hear about your last clamps from your uterus before it was removed. I hope your recovery has been going great for you. Were you for able to have a procedure that gave you a fast recovery and small or no outside incisions?
Yeah 3 small incisions. One in the belly button and 2 near my hips. They should have very minimal scarring. I was pretty satisfied with it.
