welcome to the forest of echos! here, only poetry is allowed. writing is one of the most powerful things on this earth. its passion, its life its self, and its a precious art that will last until time stops. here in this forest, let your soul free in written word and thou shall be rewarded. there are times in our lives we struggle and can't find the words to describe it, but in poetry, the written art, we can find inspiration as well as peace. so now, i encourage all to come with me and lets explore the wonderful word of the written art.
Only ORIGINAL poems or haiku (for those who dont know, a haiku follows a specific pattern; 5 words followed by 7 words followed by another 5 words.) are allowed here. so now, please come and let your heart pour into your words, let us all feel your passion and soul.
a fairy flutters about singing
balls of light follow spreading their song
all the creature gathered dancing
Long ago, the tale is told,
The unicorn forest thrived of old
The wise and mighty Nero understood
The need that framed this sacred wood
For those who couldn't happily abide
In the two binary cities where most reside
Arriving, it was my joy to find
Love and whimsy intertwined
Hugs and support, whether I succeeded or failed
And a Thread That Could Not Be Derailed
My newborn confidence allowed me to roam
And in the Women's City find a temporary home
A fairy named Satinjoy invited my return
From the forest creatures I would learn
I'm welcome here wherever I live
And I'd always have something worthwhile to give
But their reign was short, they saw danger at hand
And they fled, not just the forest, but this whole blessed land
The forest became a lonely place
Bereft of many a friendly face
Those few of us left nursed a heavy heart
But we held out hope for a brand new start
Echo, could you be the one to bring rebirth
Of energy once more to this precious earth?
I am but a shadow
formless and seamless like streaming crystal water
I become everything and anything

A shadow is but an indicator
of something standing in the light
it could be an eagle, or a raptor
but don't let it give you a fright
It could be a cute kitty witty
movin' about and flailing its tail
the shadow moving along withit
lets hope it doesn't fall -- fail
For if it moves out of bounds
so does the shadow disappear
is it gone from the making rounds?
no it's just faded from sight, dear
The feline fell right in front of you
you caught it with your face
who cares about shadows anymoo
you gots a cat hitting you like a spikey mace.

the river bed turns dry
the scorching wind blows, grass turns brittle
the land chars but renews
a breathe, a touch lost at sea
a wish a dream, just a tiny tree
we look, we pray just trying to find something
but all we seem to find in the end is nothing
single heart beat echo and beats
burning ever so much in summer's heat
however we eventually find that one thing
thus we can finally put on the crown and become kings
some will remain where it's dark
fear not though, they'll still have lights in
their hearts
for some will choose to stay in the night
for they're lay their destiny and true might

What's this sensation?
I feel lone and subdued
Never-mind feeling elation
My emotions are off -- skewed
What's this experience, like drowning
In a sea of unaliveness and frowning
Can I at least breathe somehow?
I want some real relief now!
I swim up and up
Will I ever reach some air?
I just want life to be fair!
I'm scared like a little pup
But,
Even this fear is lost
in this insanity
Even this insanity is lost
in this fear
I swim up and down
but see no sky nor ground
What can I do but drown
I'm at a lost again..
No,
I want to be alive!
i shout in my mind
How can I thrive?
when I'm so blind!
I open my eyes
oh, was it all lies?
A familiar reality appears
maybe relief from my fears
I take a breath, and scout
Something in me is still in doubt
Air comes in and out
My, what a terrible bout...
but wait...
What's this sensation? ...
When the rain is falling
On the tombs, it's raining
And deep in the well
In this black and blue hell
We hear the water dripping
To the deepest guts
Of this hole digging at all coast
Listen to the working monster
neither... nor... and not an expectation but an "either" that doesn't come with an "or,"
yet tearing those expectations asunder could not have occurred without an expectational norm,
we are determined by the possibilities that determine how it is that we are,
and so a set of I's must see that they do not belong to "we" but rather to each other,
and the norms that are followed are neither mine nor theirs but ours,
as the I's are a great many ends that are not summed by a collective word,
then let's pick up the pieces and piece together the world fashioned anew,
you are but a mortal soul in a carbon machine,
but there is nothing to restrain in your expression of yourself to the form that such thought takes,
for the past cannot take away the way the present unfolds, in your power, to act out of eyes that know what is right,
what is right is loving, and shouldn't we be engineers and tinkerers and help our machines reflect what we found worth doing with our short and fragile and precious mortality?
if I should lay here shattered
would you stoop to pick me up?
or pass by the by, nose held high,
rather than risk the cut
as days turn to weeks, and weeks into moths
as moths turn towards flame
will I then, set ablaze, at last be worthy of your outrage
will I then, lost to ash, at last earn your disinterest?
no.
you'll only use my name
and my pretty face
to ticker tape your pity crusades
a pity, a pity, apathy,
the graffiti on my grave.
times come and time goes
space becomes smaller and smaller until everything collapses
stars fall and everything restarts

I certainly don't want to turn this into a "critique/praise" thread but I just wanted to note that I like the phrase "times come and time goes" a lot. The more I turn it over the more interesting it becomes.
the touch of a thousand hands
the flames of a thousand souls
my soul that marches into battle
clad in thundering steel armor
riding on the wings of the dark dragon king
the heart of the unwavering one
my sword that smites the heavens
my voice that crumbles mountains
here i fly alone into slaughter
raising my shield and wish
the skies turn red with blood
erupt the fire pillars and incinerate
leaving not a trail in my wake
now here i stand on the field
corpse lay around me, scattered
covered in dirt and blood
i sit on the rock in the middle
for i live on today but tomorrow the battle continues
How good to feel so very alive
to read your words helps me to thrive
the roads we travel may be long
what really helps is to hear your songs
many tears fall like rain
heart felt wishes flow like endless streams
lost in place forever trapped

from my personal vault "the drums of endless war"
the flow of endless dreams
the knife held fast to my heart
burning away to ashes and dust
my life blows out like a lit candle
screaming echos and fills the hollowed halls
my ghosts come out to play
whispering thunder beats and quakes
my ground splits and breaks
when the daylight dies out
the blood red moon appears
for the rain of death seeps threw
and the drumming of the endless war will finally begin
look into the crystal blue eyes
feel the warm puff of smoke
let your heart melt in fire
the dragon's song rings loud and high
calling all home from far and wide
now i sleep within those giant wings
for my dreams take flight like the mighty beast

Oh how deeply this hurts. How the tears flow.
But I can say no more.
Love you Suzi.
