Title: Hi, I'd like to introduce myself :3
Post by: SparklingJewel on May 20, 2015, 07:24:00 PM
My name is Isabella Sarah (I usually go by Lilly, though), I'm 12, and MTF. Totally closeted, sadly (except for mom and she's not supportive at all). :( I would be in deep deep trouble if someone finds out. Very homo/transphobic family :c

This all started about 5 months ago, while messaging a dear friend of mine. I was trying to come up with a pseudonym, as I was playing a prank on her and didn't want her to realize that it was me. All I was coming up with were girl names, however. So I thought, what the heck, and went by a girl name. For some strange reason, that made me happy. Like insanely happy. Curious as to why it did, I looked into it further. It led to me realizing that I was actually transgender. I wasn't too terrified by this as I was already a huge LGBT ally at the time, even when I thought that I was a straight cis male.

Anyway, hello :3 I hope I'm welcome here.

Hi Lilly, welcome to Susan's. It's amazing sometimes how we discover that we might have issues with our gender that lead us to search for answers. I look forward to seeing you around the site. Good luck and Hugs

Hi Lily!  It's kind of neat the way some of us discover that we don't fit the gender binary.  I wish I remember when I had that "ah ha" moment.  Look forward to seeing you around Susan's!

Hello *hugs*

You could have a look here:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,180045.msg1658077.html#msg1658077
I personally also like the twin comparison... you basically will be like your male/female twin, with the same sense of humour etc...

and here:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,188309.msg1674885.html#msg1674885

You could think about a counselor... preferably a gender therapist... someone to support you and help you along the way... if they are not supportive you might look for another...
you might enter site:susans.org and your state or city at google, and see if there are some gender therapists in your place.

and you could call at the next lgbt center or plannedparenthood near you and ask for some counseling... or ask a school counselor you trust...
there might even be support groups or a gsa with other trans people...

you might say at home you want counseling, either for gender or for emotional purposes, and pick someone who has, amongst others, gender on their list...

Concerning voice, it depends on what you are doing... if hrt might be a possibility etc...
in any way singing should be possible.

Well concerning your body on hrt, many people have reported changes... it simply depends.

And I'd say keep asking questions here... people will try to support you.

*hugs*
