Hey everybody :)
So I had my second appointment with Dr Curtis today, he's writing to my GP to say I can start T and told me to go back in 3 months.
If my GP refers me to the NHS, how do I go about changing over from Transhealth? Do I continue seeing Dr Curtis until I have my first appointment? Do I need to provide proof that I will be seeing someone else?
I'm assuming that now my GP has taken over the prescription/blood tests that an NHS GIC can't stop that happening?
The reason for switching is that I have to travel a long way to these follow up appointments in London, a closer GIC is a lot easier.
Sorry if these questions are basic it all just seems super confusing to me
According to NHS guidelines you should be allowed to switch to NHS from private with no delays to your treatment, you should be treated as if you've been on the NHS from the beginning.
Just tell your GP which GIC you want to be referred to & he/she should do all the work, I transfered away from London due to waiting times there & things have speeded up for me.
If you do an internet search for GIRES you should find plenty of downloadable NHS leaflets, I have them all on my tablet & they are very helpfull
