Title: Teaching while wearing miniskirt
Post by: barbie on May 23, 2015, 07:29:49 AM
Nowadays I do wear miniskirt and heels during my classes at university. Students and my colleagues are surprisingly accepting, or they actually seem to be indifferent to whatever I wear. Anyway, it is nice.

I've wondered about that situation with you. It seems like most transgender folks prefer to blend in by wearing the same sort of clothes other women around them do, but you take more of stand-out approach. You do look great, though. I'd have to say I'm more of a blender myself. The administration of your university would seem to be especially tolerant. It's been a long time since I've spent time at a college, so maybe things are different these days.

Hi, Lyric,

Nowadays a big issue and real concern here at university is sexual abuse committed by professors.

At least, they think I will be the last one to commit that in my country.

The people in the administration are intelligent and educated enough to know the rights of sexual minority. They also know very well about ->-bleeped-<-. Above all, they are too busy doing their own tasks everyday. Some jokingly say to me not to look too pretty, as people have difficulty in recognizing me.

It may be distracting to your students, when they should be concentrating on your lecture.

Hey Barbie,

You rock those skirts just fine and hopefully will encourage other people to be out as their true selves.  I imagine you get their full attention ;)    Keep it up

Yes. I know it, and also my colleagues recommend me to wear longer skirts. Usually I wear longer skirts during the class.  Some comment that probably I am the only one wearing miniskirt among both male and female faculty members in all of the universities here. A lot of female students here do wear miniskirt.

My typical dresses during the class are like:

Thanks!

Next week, I will attend an international conference held here, in charge of a student orientation. About 2,000 people around the world will come. I will wear a far longer dress.

I love your red and black outfits. You are such a fashion inspiration to me!
I will buy a red A-line mini-skirt with a black top, black tights and wear it to work.
Thank you Barbie! :)

Oh. Thanks, Charlotte.
I avoid A-line mini-skirt because of the tucking problem. But you can try it!

Yesterday night, I coordinated a student event. Because of some problems in guidance, just about 100 students attended, although we prepared food for 300 persons. Quiz, dance, cat-walk contest, and karaoke.

We took several hundred photos, but just one because of the privacy issue.

And on Day 1, Tuesday.

I hoped to look more conservative, but I am not quite sure whether it worked. A lot of people wanted to take photos with me, treating me like a kind of celebrity.

I'll second that! I'd imagine you are well known in your field and your looks probably add to your notoriety considerably.

Damn Barbie...you look GREAT!

As I understand it, a "conservative" skirt would be at or just below the knee.

Yes. Here it is called "Chanel-line skirt". My friend mentioned it, strongly recommending me to wear longer skirts.

Thanks! Devlyn and Lyric,

I am not good at entertainment, but people tend to suppose that I am good at singing and dancing, asking me to do some entertaining performance. I should refuse it. During the student event, the young lady asked me to do catwalk, but I am very shy...

Should I learn dancing in any private dance school? I like Tango, but it should be very difficult to learn.

Dancing, huh? That could present some interesting issues. It would be reasonable to assume you would want to dance from the woman's position. However, if you dance with your wife, I would suppose you might want to dance the man's part.

As for myself, I haven't danced since the '80s.
