Title: breast tenderness
Post by: Auroramarianna on May 25, 2015, 03:46:35 AM
Hiiii, so I have only been on HRT for like, 9 days lol, and I already feel tenderness, especially the left breast below the nipple. They seem like slight growing pains. Is this normal? I am on androcur and estradiol

Yes, it's very common. Watch out for door frames, bear hugs and random kittens that might jump on your chest!

For me, it was about the third week when my nipples started to feel sore.   [emoji23]

Now they hurt all the time and the growth is  enough for me and every door jam to notice.

I never really noticed them before hrt.  Now, at least 4 or 5 times a day I'm reminded about them when they get hit by just about everything that's around me.   I think my new milk ducts are magnetic.

How my sister explained it "welcome to womanhood" lol. Seriously the tenderness will continue as long as your on estrogen and T blockers, This is normal. This is called budding, which all girls go thru during puberty. The breast tissue is growing, causing the skin to itch and stretch just around the areola, and be very sensitive. Even just a slight bump can hurt. After a few months it will start to get hard like a lump just behind the nipple area, making the nipple start to protrude. The protruding nipple I had the hardest time with, getting very stimulated by the constant rubbing of a shirt, hence the need for training bras in natal gals. Everything should calm down sensitivity wise soon and breast tissue keeps getting fuller and fuller. For me now they have grown to a full C cup and a full Dwith breast augmentation. Depending on your genetics will determine your size. Look at your sisters and mother for a size you'll be close to, which was pretty accurate for me anyways.

I definitely had tenderness and visible changes by day 5, so yeah, it's possible. :) The good news is that the soreness does usually go away... eventually!  (And soreness is correlated with development but it's not a direct 1 : 1 situation; I got to a good size without anywhere near the pain some women report, and I know of others who complain of constant pain but no apparent changes.)

I felt it within a week or so of low dose E only. In fact my skin and other changes happened pretty quickly.

I started spiro Jan. 24, E on April 18 and just added Dutasteride May 15. I have had some aching in my breasts but not much. I have not noticed much change in my breasts at this point. One of the only changes has been my skin - much softer. the gal doing my electrolysis had noticed quite a change. I an ever hopeful that breast development will come along sooner than later.

I heard that all the changes we're looking forward to can really kick into overdrive at around 6 months, so I'm looking forward to that

I think we have nothing to worry about

Although some days I just want to rub them to the point of soreness just to give myself the illusion that it's all working! haha

But right, I do think there are actually some massages that may help stimulate shape?

I didn't have any significant changes until 3 months when my dosage was upped and I was put on finasteride. Then my breasts went full on it was pregnancy nipples for like 3 months. Right now they feel and look great. Very natural looking.
