I don't have much time right now because I am working and have taken a quick break but I just wanted to jump in and say hi. I'll introduce myself more fully after work this evening. I'm so excited about having found this site. I can't wait to spend several hours just browsing around.
I am a 49 year old male to female, pre-op transgender who is also attracted to men and long-term, marriage oriented. I live in Oklahoma. I am blind and have been all of my life. I am independent, I live alone and I am employed. I have a great deal of experience in writing, law, legislative address, computer administration, website development and data entry. About a year ago my desires to live as a girl began to overwhelm me to the point that it is all I can think about. I tried to connect with a few people and organizations in this area but was not successful. I am not open to family or friends and when I do come out to them, I will lose any transportation help they give me. This has kept me from going after my dreams. I have reached the point though where I am willing to take public transit or a cab to local chapters of any LGBT group. I just can't live this loneliness anymore without doing something. This is not meant to be a dismal post. My outlook on life is very very positive but I just want to feel whole and enjoy a relationship, become an advocate for LGBT interests and use my skills and abilities to do something I will love doing every day.
I'll tell you all more about me later. Feel free to leave me a message if you want.
Welcome to Susan's Place Lezlie,
Glad you found us. So adversity and challenges are not new to you by any means! I think your post is very positive as you are acknowledging yourself and also so willing to support others. We need more folks like you! I lived in Lawton when I was in the army and hope you are closer to Tulsa or OK city for making connections??
It is entirely reasonable and possible for you to realize your dreams of feeling whole and finding love. Your outings to an LGBT group could help and having a mentor or good gender therapist are gold.
Best of luck exploring here and within your own world.
Welcome to Susan's Lezlie! I hope you enjoy your stay here! :)

Hello Lezlie it is great to have you hear. I have sifted through this site for weeks but like you only registered recently. From what I can tell it is filled with positive people and is a wealth of information with tips, support, and encouragement.
Thank you,
Melitta Stafford
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I appreciate that. I had fully intended to log on much earlier but just got sidetracked. This is a very interesting site with a lot of features. There is much I would like to say but I will look around the forums and see where the best place is to post my various thoughts. I am not sure the chat system is compatible with my screen reader. I attempted to log into it earlier. I am not sure if the problem was just an overwhelmed Wi-Fi here where I am working out of town or if it was something else. I also provided the wrong Skype information in my signature. I will go over after this post and fix that. I do have that Skype ID but I started using another because it links to a more current email address that I use. The Skype name is tgirl481. If anyone would like to add me that would be great. I do use it. Well it is late and we are working through the weekend to prepare the owners of the company for a medical equipment dealers convention in Denver next weekend. Lots of work to be done.
Thanks again to all for the welcome. I am going to try and get back in here during the day tomorrow.
