If no, why not?

I feel like it might work better if there was cloth over top of it that you could somewhat see through.  So it would look like you're seeing through the cloth to the male chest.  I think if it didn't have that it would be a bit... weird.  I mean because it would be pretty obvious that you're wearing fabric due to the fact it wouldn't be your skin tone plus seams and fabric wrinkles.  Does that make sense? I don't know if that would work even, it'd be something you'd have to try and see if it works.  It's an interesting idea though.

I see what you're saying and I agree, though I meant that it would come in skin tones.  If the idea gets rolling maybe textures could be experimented with.  I just think that it would be nice to look "shirtless."

They have shirts like this for cis men.  For us that would just mean more material over chest we already want to not exist, anyway.  I think it would be hard to make a binder that flattens you, with then fabric sewn on top to look like pecs.  It would be made out of what, foam?  I just don't see that working well, unfortunately.

No, I don't mean extra fabric or foam, it would just be a skin tone binder, except the edges would be hard to see (nylon?) and there would be nipples (vinyl? silicone?) No extra fabric, just different fabric and detail.

This isn't going very well, sorry

Would it be meant to be worn without a shirt? I'm imagining it to look like this. It would be too obvious that it's fake.

If it was just formed to look like a male chest under clothing, that may be okay. More along the lines of this one?

or even something like this with the shoulders would be cool and may be better than having pecs. It would mean the binder would have to have sleeves though.

They would probably only work for slim guys who could tuck what they have down into the pec area otherwise the pecs would just make the chest look bigger. To me those shirts are a cop out for guys who don't want to go to the gym but in the case of pre-T trans men things like the shoulder enhancements may help male clothes fit better.

I work hard enough to look reasonably flat -- the last thing I'd want would be to add more material to my chest.

There are huge variations in people's body types, and I think something like that would have to be made to measure in order to work; the chances that a standard design would look like one's own chest are very small. And given that even the snuggest binders are apt to shift position... (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fthefiringline.com%2Fforums%2Fimages%2Fsmilies%2Feek.gif&hash=669241757cc6b77b28c325f022e1bf7b2454d127)  (https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fthefiringline.com%2Fforums%2Fimages%2Fsmilies%2Feek.gif&hash=669241757cc6b77b28c325f022e1bf7b2454d127)

So... no.

As to padding in other places, that's why God made jackets with padded shoulders.

Alright.  I guess I didn't think this through enough.  I apologize.

No apologies needed. If people didn't think creatively, we'd be back on the savannah, dodging lions.
