Hey everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself. I"ve been lurking on the boards for about a year or two so figure I should start to participate. I'm Kristina, I"m in my initial transition steps ( therapist) but plan on getting going as soon as I can, but also not rush. But as i'm 37.. i'm really nervous about how i'll turn out, but its about happiness and living my authentic life as the real me.. not passing.. but passing would be nice :P
Im a Military member in the Canadian Forces so my life is unique of sorts I suppose. Any other military members please feel free to talk to me, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Welcome to Susan's place. Don't worry about passing so much. One of the people we rent to is a GG and I spent a whole day (don't ask why) talking to her. She has the sweetest personality but feminine she isn't. She worked on a tunnel boring machine, road crew and now rebuilds truck trailers in order to earn enough money to raise her kids after her husband left. All this work she was physically able to handle. There is a large variation in GGs so if you target your image to match a GG of that type you will find it easy to pass. Like a GG there are thing that never made it into my wardrobe because i knew they wouldn't work. As you are in the military, most of the things you could start with aren't possible but you should look at you weigh as if you are carrying a few extra pound, that can be handled now. The hormones will cause you to gain some of that back. In my case it was about 20 pounds and as they say, all the sand went to the right places. Therapy and this web site are also a good start because there is nothing like the fear followed by elation you have the first time you go out crossdressed. Don't worry, it pass quickly and learning that many have done it before you without any issues helps even more. If there is anything I can help you with, let me know.
Hi Kristina. I'm glad you allowed yourself to participate. sometimes it takes a while to decide if you want to let others in or not.
You are still fairly young, so your tissue should be able to heal quickly. Being in the military, I imagine you are in pretty good shape. That will help you as well.
Don't be shy about asking questions. No one will judge you or treat you with disrespect. Its good to have you here.

Hi Kristina,
Welcome to Susan's, so glad you have joined us now.
And age is not a barrier either to transitioning, I started when I was 50'ish, went onto Hormones as, like you, I needed to make sure my basic needs and changes would work well on me, well they have quite well, except hips and bum, but I always had nothing of the latter, now I have a small one  But now after a high number of years my final plans are sort of set, despite a current holdup.
Look forward to seeing you about the forum's
