So i went to the doctor today and got some info about my body and im curious to see how it measures up for a "normal" female. I am a little over 5'11 and weigh 120 lbs (which i guess gives me a very low BMI :s) and a body fat of just under 16% and i forget how much muscle like 30 something percent.
He told me i need to eat more but i honestly didn't even realize i was that skinny. My question is, is my body fat normal for a female of my BMI? It sounded a bit high for someone supposedly "underweight" tbh so I'm wondering if thats from estrogen? I do have 32B boobs and breasts add a lot of fat right? Does it show that hormones are doing their work or would my body fat be similar if i was a boy?
My other measurements are 24 inch waist, 36 inch hips
I'm 5' 5" 116 lbs with a BMI of 19.3, you must be a tall glass of water, as my stepdad would have said. ;D

Lol yes im 5'11 and a boyfriend who was the same height as me used to say the exact same thing xD he liked the legs tho!
as long as you're healthy it doesn't matter, BMI in itself doesn't say much about an individual. I had the same measurements like you when I started hrt, I weighed 120 lbs about 5'10. I did my best to gain as much weight as I could because I wanted more curves and 3 years later I'm at 140-143, couldn't be happier with my body now minus my pre-op status. I'm also a 32b. So it all just depends on what your goals are if you're happy at your current weight then all is well. I can't really say if hormones are doing their job for you or not, like how long have you been on hrt? It took about 2 years for fat redistribution to really set in for myself. I first saw changes in my thighs and butt. The thing is though, fat redistribution only works with new fat.

Hmm im okay with my weight and my curves. Like my shape is quite dramatically curvy in terms of hip/waist ratio (my measurements are 35/24/36). Im also okay with my boobs but want a bigger but but thats kindcof the tradeoff of being skinny.
Im mostly curious about body fat percentage. It seems as tho if i were NOT on HRT it would be very unlikely to have a body fat percentage of 16% given height/weight. I have been on HRT for just over 2 years and just turned 20
People go nuts about my hips and waist. They tell me it is super rare and I even had some TERFs in total denial my body could be real. Yet, you have way more pronounced hips!
For the record:
Height 5'9"
Weight 108lbs
Waist 24"
Hips 33.5 (never sure the best way to measure)
Bust 31.5"
Underbust 28"
My hips and bust are the two most uncertain so I tried to err on the side of the conservative measurements.

Yeah my hips get a lot of comments, my mom always says i got her childbearing body lol.
You should get professionally measured cuz its hard to get it right on your own. They do your shoulders too which is impossible to get right by yourself (mine are 14 and 3/4). And my underbust is right about 30 and my bust is 35 (but 32B fits me best).
Also whats terf?
Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists (TERFs for short), often get it into their heads that there is no such thing as passing and that they can always clock a trans person. Well, I did a little reverse image search on a pre HRT photo that I posted here a long time ago and they completely refused to believe it was really me in the photo. They literally said my body looked like CGI or some kind of mannequin.
Now that you've got me talking about it, I think I'll just make a thread. :P

yay nice to see other girls like me, I never can relate with any other trans girls at least body wise. my measurements now are 35-28-39 and underbust is 29. Prehrt my weight was between 115-120 and my body fat percentage back then was super low so yeah without estrogen and progesterone I highly doubt I would of been able to gain weight at all.
I'm still having difficulty gaining weight.

I hate You, lol :D
On the other hand, I have the same funny thing with my hips... :D They were always slightly wider than normally they should be and now with upper torso muscle mass gone, they are actually wider than ribcage (narrower than shoulders though...).

Yeah when i first started hormones i was severely underweight. I dunno my exact weight but i was even less than i am now and I looked like a corpse. In the first year on estrogen i went up to 145 gradually but over the last 6 months to a year I've fallen back to 120. But oddly my boobs are slightly bigger now than they were than so who knows what they'd be if i went back up to 140s :p
Its a little easier to gain and a little harder to lose for me on hormones but not much.

Yes, I think you would be somewhere below 10% body fat if you were a boy. As far as I know runway models are usually around 13-16% body fat, so your measurements at this point look *really* great. That % only would be highish for a fitness (muscly) model.

So i went to the doctor today and got some info about my body
By the way, did he measure your % body fat with a caliper (hand tool) or with an electronic scale? Hell I'm thinking of buying one of those bioimpedance electronic scales but they are not cheap u_u

Completely right. I think the best advice is to start HRT as lean as possible and once 6 months or maybe 1 year in then start gaining weight slowly and seeing where the new fat goes.
My measures so far are:
Height: 5'6'' (damn I should stop being so much of a tryhard and be back to The Shire u_u)
Weight: 134 lbs
Shoulders: 14''
Bust: 36''
Underbust: 31''
Waist: 26''
Hips: 36''
Now I'm planning to go back to 120 lbs or a little less, trying to keep the little muscled gained on the lower body and losing only fat. Aiming to somewhere between 13-18% body fat. It's gonna be a hell of a summer.
I need to be seriously cheered up ;_;
Well, judging by those measurements you provided you have a w/h ratio of 0.72 which is really good.
"All winners of the "Miss America contests" from 1920 until the 1980's had a WHR between 0.69 and 0.72."
, super fit female BMI is 20. Average fit is ~ 22-25 %. Menses often cease under 18 or so percent.

Thanks! Anyway I would really like to shrink a little more the waist so I'll give it a nice try (crossing fingers)!
By the way, just noticed right now your avatar is a Borg cube starship (damn low attention, this is diet's fault u_u). Thumbs up for that one! I really liked Star Trek TNG (very big science fiction fan here, now reading Ringworld saga).

LOL. How bad is envy.
I only read the first one. Anyway, I don't recommend my weight to anyone.
