Hormones are just so freaking amazing.
A lot of those videos on youtube have people in them that almost look like girls before starting hormones, heh. It's simultaneously encouraging and disappointing to me as a result. Plus many of them start out younger than me. I can only hope and pray that I'll be as feminine and girly in mannerism in a year at least if not in appearance...
Here's another really good one

I spent about 10 years wishing I could transition, but figured it was just out of reach for me. And part of it was fear of being seen as a guy in a dress. But then I discovered the YouTube videos and a lot of my excuses just vanished. So these were really encouraging to me.
And yes, hormones are amazing.

Then this one is for you. This is one of the ones I like to pull out when people doubt the possibilities of a transition.

ROFL, yeah I saw that one.
I really should get my eyebrows done...
It's taken me the better part of a decade to be where I'm at. More power to trans people that do it overnight compared to me. If I didn't need FFS I would have transitioned 20 years ago.

I'm actually in my late 30s! :icon_walk: Estrogen & electrolysis FTW! I don't post before and after pics because even though I'm full time, I'm not done with my transition. My before pics will probably feature mullets and jean shorts.
Good outcomes for all, but I would like to see live video, and hear them speak, which would give me a better understanding of their overall presentation. Oh, and if you show a before And after picture. with a closed smile in the before pic, and a wide toothy smile in the after, of course it will look different since it changes the shape of your jaw and adds volume to your cheeks, but since you can't walk around like that 24/7 it doesn't really benefit you as you go about your day, and it doesn't allow us to see true and accurate changes.
And, just as a warning.. There are some out there where the timelines are not honest..

That last one..umm..that much change in less than a year? Call me skeptical, but I think it would take longer than that to recover from the amount of FFS that would be required for that kind of difference.
I'm cautiously hopeful of what HRT can do for me though.
Look... transition video without HRT ... just to compare... Make-up and hair are powerful things. And good light and good camera skills also help.

The lighting washed out her true features in a lot of the pictures. And black & white pictures are more flattering as well. I want to see unfiltered pictures with normal lighting, and profile pictures to see how much bossing there is. My point is that you can hide a lot of flaws in photos with lighting, and angles. Video in normal lighting conditions with the person speaking is the only way to make a true and accurate assessment.

Exactly. This is not only true in her case, most of this "transition 1 year hormones" videos are made the same way. I mean, it is great if someone watches the video and feels encouraged by a progress that can be made so fast... But it is often very deceiving, and you don't see a realistic progress, but rather a compilation of more and more carefully chosen photos with more ideal angles and light conditions... and increasingly better hairstyle and improved make-up skills, which is all fine and great for them.. But I am afraid it often also gives wrong impression to many people.
These people were good looking and feminine Pre-HRT.
I've seen soooo many trans faces... soooo many before / afters, of all different ages, races, and looks. You just gotta be good looking to be... well... good looking, hehe.
There was a time when EVERY time I looked in a mirror, I saw a dude. Over the past 3 years, by HRT, laser, moisturizing, eyebrows...now about 1/3rd of the time I see me, as an attractive middle-aged woman.
I know it can be done, time and (if needed) FFS will do wonders.
Besides, older women make the best lovers...!
;)
After watching the transition videos I always go to the channel to see what they're like in real life. Some pass...others don't. But when they're long-time YouTubers you can see the progression over time.
But I don't think we should be so sure that these girls had FFS. A 22 year old without overly male features can absolutely make this dramatic a change. Heck, I'm 37 and hormones alone are doing wonders for me.
I cried when I watched iigethii's video and it made me want to go to Dr. Spiegel. I've seen her in other videos and heard her voice and she is incredible looking.
