Title: There is a new T-girl in town !!
Post by: Yoly on June 21, 2015, 08:45:06 PM
Hii,
How do you guys do?
I am not sure what I am doing about my name yet but for now you can call me Yoly (short for Yolyamanitzin which is a really awesome name I found)

I have been looking at this site for a while looking for answers to several questions about transition and decided to register myself since I think this place is great. Other sites that are supposed to be for support make fell like a sick man or something because I like my original genitalia, but you guys seem to be awesome and inclusive and I really thank you for that.

It's been four months since I have finally accepted/understood myself and I most tell you it has been a wild ride:
My first week was amazing, I had this felling of euphoria like never in my life. Before I was allowing myself to be a girl only through fantasies, but now I was finally going to do it in real life. However I had to learn the current limitations of technology and the infamous 25 years threshold which I had just past. I have been up and down ever since then, experiencing so much pain that I had in times thought about suicide. I know that in time, with work, I will still be able to be passable in public, but the knowledge that the masculine attributes of my skeleton are staying and that I won't be able to hide them from myself make me feel so fake. I keep saying that how my body is shouldn't really matter if I can live as a girl, but it still hurts so much.

Will this pain go away or at least decrease? I can see your smiles in your pictures and that gives me some hope, but I really wander how are things going to be later. I suppose this question comes out all the time but I felt I had to ask it for myself.

Right now I am seeing some people with experience in transitioning and thinking about when and how to do my RLT (even though for me I just think it of starting to live my life like I want to. I haven't felt so certain about something  before). They have also being helping for the depression suggesting things like mindfulness and some other techniques that I feel have helped. If you could share something that worked for you that would be great.

That is all for now. You are incredible for reading all the way through, thank you.

PS: I am 26, but still use the word "girl" because I am a spoiled millennial  :P

PS PS: For the person posting the 6 links about site rules, in the one about proper terms, if I am planning of going through hormones and FFS, but not GCS, would I still be a transsexual?
Thanks

Best for all,
Yoly

Hi Yoly, welcome to Susan's. Use whichever term you feel matches your identity. I would think transgender would more closely align then transsexual, but that is my two cents. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs

Welcome to Susan's Yoly

You are not alone in your questions and doubts, but the best thing is you found some Euphoria... and that's a wonderful thing. Maybe, if you are not already, you could check in with a gender therapist... being ale to talk to someone and get guidance and help will ease any anxieties.

Anyway look forward to seeing you about

L Katy  :-*

Yes

Also, there isn't really a 25 year threshold. Many have good results at older ages and some younger, not so much.

Welcome to Susan's.

Welcome to Susan's place. I started hormones but not a really blocking level about age 26 and had my surgery at 30 but I think if I had received treatment 15 years earlier the only difference would be in my hight. I am very old school as much of what's out there wasn't available to me. My surgeries were nose, adams apple and SRS. Hopefully in the next couple of months I will add voice to that. Makeup and hair can do a good deal and once you get rid of the beard it feels so much better. The truth is if you don't have a need for SRS, you shouldn't get it because the post surgical care is a pain in the bottom side. The whole point is to do what makes you comfortable in your body and that's your decision, not ours.

Welcome to Susan's.

Thank you LordKAT, wow you are a really awesome Kat.

I just want to make sure that I understand what you said. First of all I am referring to the fact that around 25, bones end their process of solidification. I have read in several places that that fact has the implication that hormones have no effect on the skeleton but rather only the soft tissue. I haven't find this implication properly backed anywhere though.

So, are you stating that such implication is false or rather that it is irrelevant for the end result of HRT?

Thanks again,
Yoly

Hi Yoly..and welcome :)
I've got a few years on you. But I still refer to myself as "girl" So make it yours if you like that reference :)

I'm referring to the fact that HRT affects people in very individual ways. While there may be less skeletal changes, the changes that do happen make it a moot point for some.

Hi Yoly, I'm new here too. From what I've learned is that we are transgender and when we make the decision to transition to our correct gender, the moment we do something to our bodies (hormones, surgery, etc) then we become a transexual. Keep in mind this is just a label and doesn't define who we are. Hope this helps!

Hi Yoly, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm from Boston. You're not sick for liking or disliking your genitalia,, no one should try to make you feel that way. See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn
