Hi Everyone!
I've been lurking the forum for a while and finally decided to sign up as I feel like I need a support system, with people experiencing similar things to myself.
I'm pre everything trans girl and i'm 18 years old.
I remember when I was very young I would tell my parents that when I grew up I wanted to be a girl, which really was my first indication of feeling like I was 'trapped' in this body.
My parents didn't really stifle me or anything, it was really that I learnt from Nursery and school that I should probably not think like that so I just continued living life as male ever since.
Over the past year i've been feeling very depressed, moody even suicidal at some points and I feel like i'm ready and need to begin or look into starting transition, but that is a huge scary thought for me.
I look forward to meeting you all :)
Hi Confetti, welcome to Susan's. Your among friends now. A therapist would be a great addition at this point. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs

Hi Mariah, thankyou for your kind words.
I am thinking about taking the first step and finding a therapist. I live in the UK so I was thinking about going to talk to my general doctor first? Do you think this is a wise step?
Yes it is, I believe that is how you go about the hoops in your country. Others will be able to quote more directly as to what the steps are in the UK. Hugs

That's great news, congratulations!
I am just starting my journey, with self admittance. I am hoping to speak to a doctor soon.
Welcome to Susan's Place.

Hi Confetti and welcome to Susan's
I was told by my grandmother when I suggested the same - "it would pass, just a stage you're going through" and ignored everywhere else! So there I was, a female in secret.
Oh I came to Australia from the UK in '87...
There is amazing support these days, apart from Susan's there are groups, gender therapists and specialists who are there to help you.
Lovely to have you here with us, good luck on your journey's start and look forward to seeing you about here.
