Title: When is the best time to restart exercises
Post by: leacobb on June 30, 2015, 12:54:50 PM
I am a ts woman and i had my srs about 3 months ago and i know it has only been a short time but i really want to start to exercise again. Because i have started to notice that i have started to put on weight because of the hormones and whatnot.. which is driving me mad... but the surgeon and the gender specialist nurse was so vague regarding exercise.. would it be possible to start now because i dont want to do damage to the internal healing process because exercise can cause stress on the body ??

Thank you for your advice xxx

Well... what about starting slow and only taking a walk a few times a day in the beginning ?

I would think once you are cleared for sex, you have healed enough for most exercise but I would stay away from anything that would cause a strain such has weight lifting for at least 6 months.

My surgeon was very specific. Nothing strenuous beyond a light stroll for six weeks. Then, ramp up as I could tolerate it.
