My opinion, and although it may not be agreeable, but I will share it, is: 
I just have trouble with trans* being associated like this with drag for the public viewing because I feel it provides a perception of deligitimization for transgender and transsexual people.  I understand and have no problem with drag queens.  Do not misunderstand me.  But, they are not necessarily transgender people and the common misconception in the public is that if you are trans, then you are a drag queen.  Which, in turn, implies that you may be dressed as one gender in one situation, and another gender in some other situation, which leads to a perception that trans* are not serious about their gender identity.
