Just wondering if for fun has anyone ventured out in 6" heels and a mini skirt. I'd like to do it just for fun once , but my knees are too arthritic to support me in heels. Being my age also I prefer dresses.

I hate drawing attention to myself. Even when I used to perform in rock bands I stood there like John Entwistle and didn't move.
I wouldn't wear a mini skirt even if I had the body of a supermodel. Same with stilleto heels. Hell, I would trip and break my neck in those things.

all my dresses are about 2-3 inches above the knee. I like to wear skirts , but I desperately need to get my stomach down.
I've worn mini dresses to clubs but no heels. I cant walk in them and I have yet to find a pair that are tolerable for my feet, very uncomfy >:(
I associate that with a negative caricature of what people think about transgender people, just my opinion. I tend to dress more on the demure side.

I have had people complement me on my legs but I don't know what they see in them. When I first stared cross living I wore heels of about 3 inches but at 6'2" I didn't need the extra 3 inches. Over time I gave up on them and went to flats that were far better when spending the entire day moving around the office. Mini skirts weren't correct for the office environment and they were cold. Our office was often kept just this side of ice cube and it was hard enough staying warm without exposing more skin. Most comfortable skirt was wool and several inches below the knee. If you want to enforce modesty in office wear, all you need to do is turn the temperature down.
Most days I just wear short shorts or a casual dress just above the knees. I've only worn a short dress and heals in public twice. I rarely have an excuse to rock my short faux leather dress and even less to wear heels, but I did in May at a large convention. That was a lot of fun. Got my best compliment ever too. (I heard someone in a group I passed by ask, "was that Taylor Swift?" Hahahaha, no I am not joking and no I don't see myself that way.) It's tough to feel comfortable in high heels when I'm already 5'9" and worrying about sticking out as transgender. I feel like it just makes me stick out even more.
Eventually I would love to go out in a mini skirt, and maybe pumps.
Though I feel my style is more long flow-y skirts or or something mid length like right above the knees with stockings/leggings with kitten heels.

I still present as male most days, I read as male 100% of the time anyway, and I've got some burly cyclist calves. But we've been having a heat wave, so I've been rocking short shorts & smooth legs. Short skirts yes, minishorts yes, miniskirts, not yet. But stilettos are right out; I'd just feel silly.
I see no reason to pay attention to stereotypes. I'm dressing more femme now than I really identify with, because it takes a bit extra to overcome the dysphoria. Since I'm not passing anyway, I might as well have fun with it.

I personally can't walk in 6 inch heels but I wear mini skirts every day. My usual heel size is about 2 - 2 1/2 inches and skirt length is just enough to cover the naughty bits and back side while walking or standing. I like showing off my legs.
6-inch heels? Maybe if I have the time and money to recover from a broken ankle.

Here in my country, a lot of young ladies wear high heels and killer heels, especially in downtown areas of big cities. I noticed that few women carry heavy bags while wearing high heels. When I visit those big cities, I always carry a heavy bag, but can walk on high heels.

Those heels have 1 or 2 inch high frontal platforms, making it easier to walk on.

At my age I guess I'm supposed to say no.Sure I can wear heels and it's not about height it's all about how they make my legs and torso look(which is great thankyou).When you are taller than most everyone in flats it really doesnt matter if you are wearing heels.They are still teeny weeny people from lilliput land so it makes no difference!!! Guess it all depends how you do it and whether you want to draw attention to yourself and whether you can handle how that attention goes!

I love to wear high heels (between 4 and 6 inches) and short skirts..
I have a few pairs of 6 inch heels. Only one pair of my 6 inch heels are non platform.
Walking in high heels takes practice.. and more practice. Heel down first, followed by the front and I also walking like you on a tight rope makes it easier to walk.
I wear heels virtually daily, so my feet are use to them. Work I normally wear a 4 inch heel (I work in the retail environment)
My mother loves her heels and I remember as a child watching her glide in her heels and wishing I could try and my roommate who showed me the ropes of being a woman is also a big high heel fan, she also loves her 6 inch heels with a short skirt. So my little feet were crammed into heels early in my transition.. A first I struggled to walk, but I seemed to be a natural and picked it up very quickly.. I now glide effortless in my heels and my boyfriend loves it when I wear high heels. Sometimes my feet are a little sore after a rough day in heels, especially if I spend time on the shop floor.. but then my boyfriend gives me a foot rub and its all better.

Even as a 24/25 year old in the mid 80's, as a newly minted completed person, I never wanted to wear a mini skirt or a stlllettos - in fact its always been a mystery to me why anyone wants to. Shoes with heels over about an inch and a half are bloody impractical, and sure they do give you a nice wiggle, but i'd sooner watch that on someone else than do it myself. :o
As for the mini, I prefer trousers, or on the rare occasion that I wear a dress skirt or tunic something of knee length.
Standard attire for me is nicely cut trousers with tunic worn over and kick ass italian leather ankle boots.

I feel like being at 5'9" I'm on the borderline where without heels I don't stand out that much. I am taller than the average girl but no taller than my brother's wife when she is in heels herself. When I put on heels... now suddenly I'm up in the stratosphere and taller than my older brother.

I wore the flats to my therapist apt. and was going to change into heels when I got there because I have a hard time now because of my damn knees. I went to put them on at the office , but realized even that short distance I'd end up in the hospital. Talking about this I getting so jealous .

I love to wear high-heels also during work. But in the office combined with a knee length skirt. At weekends I sometimes wear mini skirts or mini dresses.

Multiple 6"s are in my possession. Also one pair of ballet boots. ^_^ I can walk in both.
But I don't wear the 6"s since I am too heavy and want to preserve my joints. When I get lighter, I will sure get back to them. I might need a smaller size by then too. So let's say I will get back to 6"s.
The ballet boots I got as an indoor footwear. Currently I'm only wearing them sometimes overnight, to sate my fetish for flexible feet.

I have always driven manual transmission and when I wear dress shoes, I slip them off and drive bare footed so I don't mark them up. That's why I favor slip on shoes instead of buckle on shoes.
Oh right... miniskirts.
Right now I have trouble with tucking. The equipment is too big to hide. Although I can get there, it is annoying and sometimes things go wrong while outside.
The bottom line is I don't feel comfy enough with skirts. Hope HRT will reduce it all and SRS would be the ultimate cure.
I wear 4" heels or wedges pretty much every day. I used to wear them with a mini skirt but HRT has stacked weight on me and that needs to go before I try wearing a mini skirt again.
6" heels? No way. 4" heels hurt enough at the end of the day :-\

I think the right shoe even with a 4" heel can be more comfortable than the wrong shoe in a flat.

Not so much for fun, but my most expensive and most beautiful pair of shoes that I own are a pair of Louboutin high heel pumps that I like to wear with a number of short skirts that I have. My louboutins are very comfortable to wear, mind they should be as they cost a fortune.

After I posted my reply a moment ago I remembered something from the time I transitioned before. This was in the mid 1980's and I was working at the Head Office in one of the UK Banks. Back then I was on my RLE (Real Life Experience) and had been working and living full time for about a year when I got the job with the Bank. In Head Office they had a policy then that women were expected to wear skirts (Not more than 2 inches above the knee) - and to wear heels in the office. Pantie hose or stockings had to be black, nearly black, nude or brown but no coloured pantie hose. Women especially the secretaries were also expected to have nicely manicured and painted nails. For me at the time it was very liberating, but I am sure the board (all men as I recall or Senior Management made the rules) although I worked for a Woman as her secretary, although she too was always immaculately turned out. It was OK to go to work wearing boots, but you were expected to change into one's heels as soon as you arrived at the offices, then it was heels at all times in the day. I am sure it was to delight the men seeing all the women walking around in the office. I certainly learnt quick enough how to look up files on the lower shelves in various filing cabinets without showing too much!

Yes. Pumps are harder to walk in than sandals with the same height of heels. Your toes will suffer more. However, they look very sexy. I wish to have them.
