Title: Large Cap Wigs?
Post by: Jessica_W on July 07, 2015, 05:11:48 PM
Hey everyone, so today I went to a wig store and I was disappointed to learn that most wigs are small and there are few that are large cap wigs. I'm hoping that maybe someone here might point me in the right direction to a website or company that makes wigs for those of us with larger heads. I'm bald and know that I will need a wig for the rest of my life. Please help if you know of some great websites or stores that sell large cap wigs. Thanks!

hi Jessica,
well I'm in the same "boat" as far as being bald. The one I have on in my profile pic was purchased from crossdresser.com and fits pretty good. There are also some hair "systems" out there that I want to look into, since they are custom-fitted. A friend on here (well they are ALL friends actually) got one recently, and she will hopefully provide a thorough review soon.

I feel your pain about a large head and it is true there are not many large cap wigs out there.   One trick I have used is to cut the elastic adjuster out of one side of the cap and see how that fits. You can snip some of the wefting around the perimeter and then sew the elastic into that to give it some extra stretch If needed.

Try wigs.com or cysterwigs for larger cap sizes.  Both have videos so you can get a sense of what the actual wig looks like.
