Title: Third genders in other cultures
Post by: rachel89 on July 14, 2015, 12:28:33 AM
Can anyone tell me in an educated way about Katoey and Hijras. I don't much about non-binary gender identities even though I am a transsexual.

Hijra is a term used in South Asia, and mostly India, to describe transgenders and transsexuals, Katoey is the same used in Thailand. At least in my understanding, they're basically the same thing as the umbrella term "transsexual" is in English-speaking countries.
