Title: Do I need to quit my job and move to California?
Post by: Amy1988 on July 14, 2015, 02:47:01 PM
From what I have read California residents who are considered low income qualify for health insurance under Obamacare and can get a sex change paid for by insurance.  So I'm kind of thinking about quitting my job and just moving to California.  Has anyone here living there had their SRS paid for by Obamacare?

I haven't heard about that. If it is true you may have to establish residency there, which takes a year and a day. I'm trying to get into school out there myself. Best of luck!

I'm a lifelong resident of California. I'm am also low-income (right now), have Medi-Cal under the Affordable Care Act, and live in San Francisco. I have been approved for a consultation and soon hopefully, my surgery with Bowers. Consultation is the 27th. So yes,  California does pay for GRS. Like Jean24 said, you're going to need to live here for a year. Whatever you choose, best of luck!
