Title: Breast Development
Post by: Jessika on July 14, 2015, 06:52:51 PM
Hi Girls,
I read in a few articles that it is normal for breasts and/or nipples to get sore/hurt and more sensitive, depending on the person.
But my issue is: Only might right breast is sore/tender around the nipple area. The left side shows no pain.

Is that a good/bad thing? Can it be expected?

I appreciate all replies.
Thank You!

Jess

It's possible that you may experience asymmetrical breast development, but it's relatively rare for it to be very pronounced even though it's relatively common to have different sized right and left breasts. Mine hurt like crazy for months aft starting HRT, and have recently begun hurting again. Apparently it's pretty normal, and what you've described sounds like the budding stage. If there's any discharge or if the pain becomes more pronounced or remains only with the one breast for over a month then I'd suggest talking to your endocrinologist about it. You may have to get a breast exam as well as some other tests in case you have any of the more serious bad symptoms.
I'm not a doctor, so if you get worried you should definitely consult one. Other than that, your case sounds a lot like my own experience [emoji6]

It's pretty normal. Mine usually don't hurt at the same time, they'll alternate hours or days... Or one will hurt for a few days at a time and then stop and then the other one will start up. They play catch up with each other. :P

Considering your just starting out this is very common especially when starting out. Don't worry the other will eventually start showing the same signs. Mine did the same thing and like you I worried when the other would start showing signs to. Be patient because it will happen. Hugs

For a while the pain in mine seemed to jump back and forth. It was in both, but more pronounced in one.

Anxiously awaiting appointment to begin therapy. Question: so is there anything that takes the edge off the pain?

I didn't think it was that bad. I don't remember which doctor, but I was told to only take Tylenol because of medication interactions. I don't know if its related to HRT or Zocor (my cholesterol med).

Personally I didn't think the pain of breast development (even when it was every day) was that bad.

When the aching was realy bad early on I found gentle, whole hand (mine) massages in circular motion helped me get through the worst of it. But nothing made it go away. It was super awkward to do around other people too!

"Excuse me, I just have to go hide in this corner and touch myself..."
