Hi all, I've just recently come out as Trans to my family and close friends and one thing they've all brought up in one way or another, and which I knew was going to be a problem myself to be honest, is my shoe size, which is a 17UK, now as you can imagine you is a big big problem as I've looked online quite extensively and the biggest size I could find was a 14UK, I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that sold larger sizes? I'd particularly like to hear from any American ladies who have this problem as I generally used to get trainers from there but I've had no luck with ladies shoes, please help xx
I have to buy all mine online. I have a (US) size 12-13 normal-wide (depending on the brand). I get mine on Zappos.com Its unfortunately a bit of trial and error. They claim to have free returns, but I've never attempted to use it. My initial problem was getting shoes that were too big.
Thats my big worry is getting some and finding they're too small (Don't think being too big will be a problem sadly :( ) and then having to return them, obviously if I get them from America (which is probably the only viable option) and they're not right, well thats going to be expensive if they kick up a fuss about returning :( I'll have to keep looking and be careful making my decision I think
Buying women's shoes online can be problematic given that Size X from one shoemaker can be Size X+1 or Size X-1 from another. Unfortunately Kylie, at size 17 you may have to look at a specialist shoemaker which won't be cheap. I can only imagine that's what plus sized feet people usually have to do...?? :(
I was afraid I was going to hear that :( Well I'm hoping there are still a few good cobblers around the UK :) Will have to get looking hehe xx
