Title: MTF, If bone density does decrease can this be a noticeable thing?

Like bone length wil be the same, but will the density make the bones slimmer?

The bone decreases in strength and will break easier. There is probably no physical change to notice. It can be very serious and another reason we need to be under medical supervision. I get a bone scan every few years as part of my medical supervision, although I do not think that is a common practice. My endo is just very cautious.

What?? Proper HRT should not make bones decrease in density. If you are self medicating stop or you will have issue's in the future. Bone density is nothing to play with at all. I ran several calls in my career where bone density issue's made a walk away vehicle accidents a permanent disability. 6 bones fractured versus 2 and that sort of thing. The visible changes will be when your spine weakens and bows. Please find a good Endo if you do not have one.

I'll preface this by saying I'm not a doctor...

My understanding is that the reduction of bone density is when there isn't sufficient sex hormone. That's why m2f on anti androgens only (or post menopausal women or low T men) can get osteoporosis. Your endo should ensure you have the right balance of female hormone and anti-androgen to ensure you don't get loss of bone density. Lower bone density won't lead to bone shrinkage but it will lead to broken bones and a humped back, neither of which are any fun.
