So this upcoming August 1st, 2015 I will have been employed with my workplace for TEN WHOLE YEARS!!!!
It is crazy how fast that flew by when I stop to think about it.
I work in a library. I started the job as a way to make some extra money while I was in college. I began as a shelver (a person who puts the books away) and just recently made the transition into a permanent part-time* position in our Collections department. That is the part of the library that orders all the materials for the branches (books, CDs, DVDS etc). I currently work in the area that covers these materials and processes them for the different branches (21 in all).
I am just really happy to have been here so long and I can't wait to see what the next TEN WHOLE YEARS(!!!) brings me.
*This means the hours are part-time, but I receive paid days off if I am sick and paid vacations. The other position I got none of this.
