HI,
Thought I'd share something that worked out great for us. About 5 years ago Leah enrolled us in a rewards points program on our Credit Card. It had an annual fee. At first we thought we would trade the ponits in on miles for air-line. We had troubl finding an airline going to where we wanted to go. We thought dollar for dollar we were spending the money on needed items anyway, so why not.
This year for Christmas Leah cashed in the points and ordered me a Dell Laptop. After trading in points for the Dell coupon and then the $100.00 rebate and then transfer points to cover the remaining cost of the Laptop... TheLaptop only cost us $57.48. The Laptop was valued right at $1000.00.
Now why did I think this something to post? I have read some of the post where the writer is waiting to get something till enough money is earned. I thought If they used the Credit Cards to pay the bills (Gas,Electric,Other utilities), buy groceries, clothing, your house payment ect. Then pay it off everymonth and earn rewards ponits to use toward the dreamed about item.
Yes the rist of getting behind is there but if you live on a budget and now what you spend on these things anyway and you set that amount back to pay the bill...no problem. Disipline is the key though.
Just a thought that might work for those trying to save for something special.

A clever tactic... I shall have to keep that in mind... Thank you (=
