Title: Cervical screening reminders after changing insurance to M!
Post by: makipu on August 03, 2015, 09:56:48 AM
Has anyone who already changed their health insurances to M still have the cervical screening reminders?  I just logged into my patient portal and it's still showing up in the system while the gender is changed.  What's worse is that every time I had to call the member services, they kept asking me about it despite telling them all kinds of things because I find it offensive. I am afraid to call them now that I changed it to M because I think they may ask again...  Should I just tell them I don't have that organ? >:(

Well you do have it and if something goes wrong with it, you need it fixed.

Call the doctor's office itself and make sure they have male in your chart.  Make sure the insurance company has male in their system.  Ask them to specifically remove your name from the call list.  That may be the issue...you are on some sort of list and they have to initiate a request to the computer tech guy if they can't do it themselves.

Hi, don't mind me jumping the fence here, but I just got a notice from my insurer today that I am apparently overdue for a pap smear.

Seriously?  I will do that after I'm done fighting you to pay for the SRS.  You ARE paying for that, right?

Bastards.

I agree. I know it's uncomfortable and dysphoric for you, but really, even if it is just a discrepancy somewhere, I think it's important to be properly screened for the organs you have, for however long you have them.
