Hey guys,
I've got a huge problem now :embarrassed:
My doctor is currently on vacation and therefore I won't be able to see him by the end of August (probably).
The thing is I got my blood test results today and my Testosterone-level is far to high!
>15.000 ng/ml (reference range: 2.490 - 8.360 ng/ml )
Also my TSH-level doesn't seem to look that great: 8.86 μU/ml (reference range: 0.30 - 4.00)
As for the rest everything looks fine - *even* (!) the estradiol (E2) level which I've always thought would be - in case of a T-overdose - increased.
However, about three months ago my levels were completely fine but it occurs to me that since then my transition kind of remained still.
So I was wondering wether that overdosage might have slown down that process (although the T hasn't converted into estrogen so far). ???
I'm almost 6 months on T now by the way and have always been on Testogel since then.
Besides I have no idea what to do now :'( Should I stop using the gel for 1-2 days and then go on with half dosage ? And what about my TSH-level? Do you think that can wait for a few weeks until by doctor's back?
kindest regards and many thx in advance,
Shinigami
*mod edit- no dosages please
Are you experiencing any negative side effects? How is your skin looking? On your lab work, how is your Red Blood Cell count? Are you retaining a lot of fluid?
I wouldn't alter your dosage without approval from your doctor, but if you're experiencing negative side effects I would give the office a call. Even if he's on vacation, there's someone at his practice that will know how to get in touch with him. They'll be able to tell you if you should be concerned or if you should proceed as normal.
Heyho!
Firstly thanks a lot for your reply!
I can't really tell wether I do experience neg. side - effects to be honest. My skin looks fine (started to get some pimples around the 3-month mark but really just a few. You could basically count them on the fingers of one hand or at least not more than 1 1/2 hands :P ).
Appearently they didn't measure the amount of Red Bloud Cells; so I can't tell that as well.
However I certainly have been experiencing retention of fluid the last couple of months! I was thinking I had obviously gained weight at first but also my face became really round and the whole body more soft but also more muscular (as I'm doing a fair amount of training/workout). So I wasn't sure wether my muscles had just pushed the body fat more upwards (although pre-T I was rather skinny). But i can definitely tell that my face has experienced fluid retention and - thinking about it now - also my body has.
Basically I look like I did not only gain muscles but also body fat which is quite impossible since I do my workout and haven't changed my eating habits since starting T at all.
Besides my mood could be better...
I tried phoning my doctor several times today until a friend of mine told me that he was on vacation. Yesterday the same friend tried to get access to our doctor but his weird substitude told him to go to his GP. Very helpful indeed! >:(
edit: Also it's just crossed my mind, that my tiredness has increased a lot. At university I actually *had* to drink coffee in order to survive lectures! (I had never ever been a coffee-drinker before)
Oh, and sex-drive increased a lot lot lot (also around the 3 month mark)
I agree with ftmax, keep trying your doctor's office to see if someone can help you out. I'd stay on your normal dose of T until you talk to someone about it.
But your TSH level--it's really high! I'm assuming someone's looked at it before since you're having your TSH checked, but are you on any kind of medication for hypothyroidism? The tiredness, weight gain, and water retention are probably all from that, and if you're not on any kind of treatment for it, you should definitely talk to your doctor about it. It's not really urgent, but the symptoms are certainly unpleasant, so definitely talk to someone about it when you get the chance!
