Hey everyone!
I am new to this website and I have literally just made an account so I am still navigating my way around and working things out. ;D
I am a 14 (nearly 15) year old FTM and I am pre T but have been on injections of Gonapeptyl for about 10 months now. I get quite bad dysphoria over how skinny I am and how other boys my age are so muscular, so I decided I want to start working out to gain some muscle! My cousin who works out regularly doesn't think it is worth it seeming as I am on blockers and have very little to no hormones, as he believes without testosterone building muscle doesn't work. Should I just cope and wait till I am on testosterone before I start religiously working out or should I just start now, which would give better results?
Thanks again :D
Hello and welcome :)
You might ak your doc of their opinion if it might have some kind of effect on your blocker treatment.
In general you might develop some muscles, it might simply take more time.
If you enjoy it and your doc says its ok why not ?
I'd simply not exaggerate...
hugs
Hello Laura
Thanks for your quick response! :D
I will do that then good idea
I will be careful considering my age though
Many thanks ;D
Building muscle takes a long time. Being that you're fourteen and have no sex hormones in you at the moment, you're pretty unlikely to wake up tomorrow looking like the incredible hulk. But until you start T, you can still get stronger!
A lot of strength is made not by adding muscle mass, but by developing explosiveness. And explosiveness is really just a fancy word for speed. Fast twitch muscles. There's that guy in Texas who can bend and fold metal pots & pans, but he's not very big. He just has incredibly explosive muscles and neurons.
Even after you start T, it still takes a long time to build muscle. Here, I recommend a site called Acrobolix. Since we're not allowed to post direct links on the forum, just do a search for Acrobolix. The guy who runs the site is an absolute sweetheart and will answer any questions you might have.
Thank you very much for the information, I didn't know that! ;D
I will definitely take a look at that website you recommended :)
Many Thanks :D
Somewhere in the past I read that males have a 50% strength advantage over females. Naturally the reason would be T but that means strength is possible without T but it takes much more effort. Also the work out routines are different for men and women because women don't want to have bulky muscles but yet want strength. You might be in trouble with the skinny part because both my bother and I ended up with a slim body that doesn't develop much in the way of muscles. You may be able to develop strength but unless you genetics allow it, bulky muscles might not be possible.
