I call myself Wing Walker after the brave, skilled and crazy women who would walk on the wings of a biplane while it was in flight. No one in their right mind does that but then, no guts, no glory.
So I'm in my mid-50s, retired, pre-op, M to F and close to being on the list, living as myself since about 2002.
I don't have any hobbies as such but I love oldies music from the mid-1950s to 1970. I also love ABBA and The Carpenters, two good things to come out of the 1970s for me.
I have been on HRT since 2002 and even an old duck like me can still be surprised with the results she can get!
I've been reading postings here for a time and I will say this: being born transsexual is for me a blessing. Oh, it has its downsides, like on the job, family distancing themselves from you, deep depressions, possibly suicidal thoughts and attempts, and a great degree of fear and uncertainty after the decision to transition is made.
I feel blessed because I am one of the few who will live two lives in the same lifetime. I have told "The Committee of They" that there is no place in my life for them. I shop where I wish, try before I buy, eat at whatever place my appetite takes me, use truckstop restrooms when ***absolutely*** necessary, and stay in any hotel I wish (I prefer Best Western --- no surprises!)
I have made some wonderful, forever friends during my journey thus far and hope to add even more. They are my "Heart Sisters." Some are activists and have become as heroes to me and I give them all of my respect.
