Okay, well I couldn't think of a very good subject title to use for this, so that's the best I can come up with. Right now I'm just two weeks into transition, okay no biggie. I still present and live my life as a male for the time being. But when changes start to occur over the months, I was curious how each of you shifted into your target gender.
I am a little nervous about the inbetween time when I won't fit in male or female. . . sort of androgyne I guess.
I was just thinking about it, and being the bored person I am right now with a very light school schedule, I figured I would post to see what all of you said. I'm just trying to get some ideas here on how most of you made the change. I know a lot of you presented in your target gender before you were even on hormones, so just let me know what you did.
I know some of you might just be like, woke up one day and started presenting how I feel. But hey, even if that is what you did, I'm still interested in hearing you story :)
I had grown my hair out quite a bit by the time I started HRT, and I switched into androgynous clothing a few months into it. I just wore women's versions of men's clothing, like khaki's and polo shirts. I figured I'd TRY to be androgynous, and wait for Society to tell me when/if I crossed the threshold.
People didn't seem to ever see me as in-between... they just decided on male or female, then forgot about it. I heard sirs for the first four months or so, then the pronouns just stopped, then the miss's began at around 8-10 months. At that point, I just went for it.

I'm on the brink of HRT, and for the past few months, I was doing electrolysis. Now I'm starting laser (which HURT like a SOB), nothing real outrageous. I'm not lucky enough to have androgenous features, at least not my face. I must take the stealth approach, there's no grey area, no in between for me. I have begun to practice on my voice on a regular basis too.
After FFS, then that will be different, but a ways off. By then I should be done with laser and be on HRT for a good year or so. Then it will be like night and day, but not night gradually turning into day.
I had a bit of an awkward in between phase. It happened before my social transition, so I just took the 'sir's as a bonus and gritted my teeth and lived with the fact that people thought I was a butch female for a while. It is the hardest phase to get through in my opinion. Eyes on the prize, though. Things do get easier.

Yeah that's what I'm sort of worried about. I know I have months before it happens but hey, I like reading people's experiences :D
