Title: Traveling Internationally With Testosterone + Syringes
Post by: blurryface on August 23, 2015, 10:27:39 PM
Hi everyone,

In about a month I will be backpacking through Europe for about 30 days and will need to bring with me my Testosterone and syringes...something going wrong is a natural fear.

What do I need? What should I avoid? I just need help. I will be bringing one bag with me, should I check it or no? Any basic information you guys have PLEASE let me know.

I will be flying from Los Angeles to Madrid, Spain. And then flying back to the USA from Dublin, Ireland.

The other countries I will be traveling through (by train) are France, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium. Will I have to check the regulations with each country? Is it true sometimes a US prescription just won't matter because I'm not in the states. How should I prepare?

The thing that sucks is I just moved to LA from Chicago and my doctor who prescribes my medication resides there so it might be hard to get ahold of them if something goes wrong.

ANY AND ALL RECOMMENDATIONS/ADVICE WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.

Hi Blurryface, welcome to Susan's. I don't have an answer for you, but I hope others do. You try checking with the regulations for each country involved although if they are part of the European union travel regulations should be basically the same. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs
Mariah

Its like my SO with diabetes, she travel with syringes, there is no problem. I suggest not to hand carry for embarrasment should they ask you. If you want to be double sure have a Doctors prescription.

You should be fine as long as you have a medical explanation or medical proof on hand if they ask you. A lot of people have conditions where they need injectable medicines with them constantly such as insulin shots. Everything should be okay as long as you give valid proof of what it's for if they ask you.

This is all recent: I've travelled between the US and Canada without a problem - no questions asked. North America to Germany. Germany to the UK - no problem at all. These were all on carryon bags.

If they do ask just make sure your name is on your T prescription and you should be fine.
