I just found out my insurance will cover everything up to and including srs. After my three hundred dollar deductible which will disappear quickly they will pay for 90% of everything. When I actually did serious research into doing this I was terrified how much I would pay but now I'm paying only about ten percent of everything at the most. I'm so happy. :) :D ;D :o :'(
That's amazing! Congrats :D
Yay. Congrats. It's wonderful when that happens. Hugs

That's totally awesome, if you don't mind me asking, which insurance company do you have?
Congrats, you are among the few who can do this through insurance ;)
I will point out, you have another uphill battle. Next, is finding a doctor who accepts insurance. I have found that Dr Bowers in Colorado does, I am just saving up for my expenses while I am there. My husband's insurance pays for SRS. Otherwise, you'll have to save up, pay the doctor, then have insurance reimburse you.
Good Luck!
I have premera blue cross through my job. They cover everything without me needing to pay first so no reimbursement. Now I just need to keep this job through the whole thing. Luckily for me there are plenty of transgender friendly therapists with experience available near where I live and my nearby free clinic doubles as a hormone treatment facility so the first two steps are out of the way. Does anyone have any idea how I can convince my insurance to cover my lazer hair removal I wonder?

A letter from your psychologist stating you are a transgendered woman. (similar to SRS letter) and that you would feel emotional and mental relief as you continue your journey to femminity. You have great distress about your facial hair and that this is part of your transition per WAPTH standards. Then, the doctor coordinating your transition writes something similar. The doctor doing the laser submits a pre-authorisation for 30 sessions of laser to.clear your face.

This is amazing, congrats!
Also, I think I should see if my insurance covers SRS as well XD
