What a disappointment for me
Why must people whine about their "struggle" and think that their story is so much more
important than everyone elses?
We all have a struggle, trans or not... but using yours as a way to get attention, to me, is silly
Just my thoughts... I had to mute half of the show, because they annoyed the hell out of me
A lot of trans women share the same struggles, and we can't fix what we don't acknowledge.

Why didn't you just shut it off?
Having high hopes for "Doctor" Drew is like having high hopes for the next Smashmouth album.
"No, really you guys! I thought it was gonna be good! Wait! Where are you going?!"
I heard "Dr" Drew was involved and I steered clear. Dr Phil has more integrity.

Some attention to our issues is better than none. More public info there is the better things like medical might improve.

Dr. Phil is pretty creepy.
Exposure is good.

I wasn't impressed with how he has handled transgender guests.

Phil Donahue had a lot of groundbreaking controversial topics on his show during the early 70s; that's where I first learned about breast implants.
Im not against drawing attention to our community to benefit us, but I am opposed to people who are "woe is me, I had it so hard" I know there are those in all walks of life, but the LGBT seems to have way more...
Maybe Im just not conveying my thoughts properly...I feel Im struggling to explain here and I dont really want too
I tend to have that problem
I guess for me... I would not "whine" about how hard it is for me to be myself...I know it is, and you know it is. But maybe most people dont give a ->-bleeped-<- and just see it as whiny...
I should probably just stop talking.... ???
and I realize I shouldnt have had high hopes for drew...
sad that we dont have a "like" button here on this forum :-\

Isn't that the same as "applause" and "smite"? I read a thread on here saying to use those sparingly and only in rare cases.
Such a bummer because I would like to use them way more often.
Not sure what I missed!!! Anyway to see this online or anything to form an opinion?
I don't pay attention to dr drew or Phil. I'd rather spend the time reading sites or listening to real professionals who have a better base experience and knowledge like gender therapists.

Here's why they decided to produce the community friendly shows in from of an all transgender audience.

Thing is, the community is marginalised by the straight cis media, and rarely are we treated equally unless we make a big to do about the equality. In recent times, now that people are starting to realise that we ARE normal, we can shed some light on issues affecting us to help the community. Unfortunately, many take the 'woe is me' stance instead of having a 'what about us?' attitude, which I think is often unintentional but only natural to get people's individual issues addressed. It's not everybody, but when somebody gets a microphone, 'Listen to ME' gets thought instead of 'We need THIS to be seen'
Dr. Drew is a twit. Simply a ratings prostituting whore. Nothing more. He said something to the affect that he "wants to learn and understand more about trans people"... ummm maybe you should have paid more attention in Psych 101... it's covered in most classes. And since he somehow received a post-grad degree somewhere, I'm sure he could figure out how to do some research before blindly and feebly approaching such sensitive subject matter. Moron.
