Hi Rosey,
Welcome to Susan's.
I was really scared of telling my dad too. I always that he was very homophobic and would react violently to my need to transition.
When I told him I made sure to keep in mind that I had been coming to terms with my nature for years and this may be a shock for him and take some time to process.
So when I came out I was sure to explain how long I had felt this way, what I was feeling, that I had consulted my doctor and my therapist, and what they thought. He asked me lots of questions and then told me that I should do what made me happy and that was all a father could want for his kids.
I can only hope your parents take the time to listen, process and accept you for who you are.
Hugs,
Bobbi
