Title: Hair Colour
Post by: Picklehorse on September 02, 2015, 06:26:57 AM
... or color for you strange people across the ocean.

I've been on HRT for over a month now and my hair colour has begun to change. Not subtly, but completely different colour - from Blond to Mid Brown.  I'm mainly Mid-Brown hair colour, but I've always had a variety of hair colours - my moustache was blond, my eyebrows, the hair on my hands, etc.  Now, the blond is quickly dying out and its actually quite startling to see myself in the mirror with a dark beard shadow above my lip...

Has this happened to anyone else? I thought hair colour was determined by genes, not hormones!

I've heard of people whose hair changed in thickness or structure, but never about drastic hair color changes. Very interesting. I understand the frustration about a dark upper lip (same here), but  on the other hand, dark hairs are a lot easier to remove than blonde hairs  ;)

It may not be the hormones. I'm pre everything, blonde hair growing up and well into my 30's. Late 30's hair changed to dark brown. Change was really fast. Now getting some gray, bummer.Have know some cis gender people that had hair color change as they got older too.
