"Alex Salinas, 21, is a Spanish Catholic who was assigned female at birth but identifies as a man. In June, Salinas requested to become his nephew's godfather, but his request was denied, Spanish media report. He was not eligible to become a godparent, his church said, because he is transgender, which is incongruent with Catholic teachings."
This is one of a hundred reasons why I left the Catholic Church many years ago.

I was born catholic, even though I stopped identifying as catholic couple years ago this still hurts to hear.
With all the recent talk lately of grace and forgiveness, even forgiving abortions... Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the holy water again....

I'm afraid I have seriously bad news for the Vatican, then. >:-) :laugh:
Glad Im the only member of my religion.
That means that my word accounts for 100% accuraccey And guess what, God saw fit to offer me two choices of beng a god mother, both of which I accepted :)
Stay away from religious institutions!
I left the Church this year and reading articles like this one only confirms for me that I did the right thing.
