Title: FFS Consult w/Dr Toby Mayer
Post by: Qrachel on September 03, 2015, 12:23:54 AM
Thought I'd give a brief overview for others who might be interested in FFS:

The cost isn't final yet as we have a digital photo review/planning session in 3 weeks, but as I expected we're in the low to upper 40Ks (I'll seek a discount).  This includes a day and night at a nice recovery center - I may ask for 2 nights; I'm a big sissy and am roughing it when room service is late.  It would be more like 25-30K w/Cardenas in Mexico, but I'm not sure I want to go to Mexico to have the surgery - heard great things about it and probably just my personal bias showing up.

All in all, the visit was really nice and all the pre-surgery work-up will all be free plus a free session with the esthetician at the next visit for a facial (ahhh) and general face care consultation for the 1st 6 mos post-op given the surgeries selected.  This will be augmented post-op.  The Dr. and staff and I seemed to enjoy each other, which made for a pleasant visit - visit took about 65 minutes with very little wait time.  If I am going to do this I'll likely have it done with Dr. Mayer.

He's the 3rd Dr. I've talked to about this including Caitlyn J's physicians.  They were all good but Mayer seemed a little more sensitive to my priorities and had a more moderate approach.

More to follow and then I've got to decide.  Money is an issue but I knew that going in though I'd be close to home . . . I fly enough as it is!  Dr. Alter did my SRS here locally (great job) and I was so happy there was no travel.

That's it for now - feel free to jump in.

TTFN,

R

Update - Heard from Cardenas:

That makes four different practices' input that are largely aligned.

With Cardenas it's nearly the same procedures and a quote is on it's way.  Differences seem mostly in the eyes, where Cardenas would be more aggressive.

Sooo, there it is.  After the quote it's a matter of time, money and desire.

Hope my sharing this is helpful . . .
