Sorry for making a third (!) thread, but I needed to figure this out. Gender dysphoria is on my mind practically 24/7 now, and I can't bear it much longer. I need to confirm ASAP if I'm trans or not. I most likely am, but I can't really explain it too well, so I need some hard fact. I'm thinking gender therapy would be best, but I don't know.

You need to let your parents know that you need to see a therapist. It would greatly benefit you. Secondly, only you can determine if you are trans are not. We can't for you. I wish I could come out and do it for you, but I can't. The fact that your so consumed by it is probably a good indication that you are, but please see a therapist. Hugs

I'm not sure if my current therapist is a gender therapist though... all he mentioned was confirmation bias, and that maybe I'm not seeing the other side of things, which sounds like a load of cosmic crap, thinking back on it. Next meeting is on Tuesday, don't know if I can wait.
You could have a look here and the links there:

Remember its your answers that count...
and your asking could be a sign in itself.
Usually cis people do not question their gender.

Cis people hardly ever have gender dysphoria. Just sayin'.
Hi Flinchcat...
Suzi's right, but I would add, you know, deep inside... its like a permanent niggling heart-ache, similar to missing a loved partner, but also the sorrow you feel about not being who you really feel or believe you are.
Well that's how I've known all my life!

Don't know if this will help or not but for me I could never imagine myself as a woman in the later parts of my life when I assume cis women can, plus I hated my boobs since I first started growing them and I've always disliked my birth name. Of course there is no right way to be trans, this is just my experience. If you aren't comfortable as your current gender role then try something else until you ate comfortable. I also would look into seeing a gender therapist.
Thanks. I'll take the test nao~

If you think you're trans, you probably are. That being said, it's time to find a therapist who has experience with, or better yet
specializes in gender identity issues. And make sure you find a therapist you feel is good fit for you. If you get a good vibe from the first one you meet with and feel comfortable right away then awesome!! If you're a little unsure, don't be in too much of a hurry to shop around. You need to be able to be comfortable sharing your innermost feelings with whomever you choose if you expect to make any progress. But again, even the best therapist can only tell you if they
believe you are trans based on their experience with others. Only you can
confirm it. I am not a mental health professional, so take what I have said as advice only. I wish you the best on your quest for answers. Hopefully this has helped even if just a little bit.

Many hugs to you <3
I already have a therapist, but the process is... slow. I am not a slow person and my dysphoria worsens by the day. He does do gender, not sure if it's his speciality or not.
