Hello All, I just joined a few minutes ago and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Xena Christine, I am a MTF individual who has been living openly and full time for the last 8 years. I have legally changed both my gender designation and my name and have finally started searching SRS surgeons that accept Medicare as I am both disabled and retired because of my disabilities. I have already has augmentation surgery done and have been amazed at how much that first step has improved my life.....people have become so supportive, friendly and helpful, but most importantly I can now go anywhere and do anything I want without attracting unwanted attention to myself. I am now just another woman in the crowd. When I first came out I was working at Home Depot; talk about swimming in a sea of testosterone! The thought of coming out there really scared me for a long time but one day I woke up in the morning and thought "today is the day" and it was. I went public that day and have never looked back. My life has been somewhat of a rollercoaster since then, but I am happy to say that the high points far outweigh the low points. I have been actively participating locally in furthering our cause and am always looking for new opportunities to do so. If anyone is interested, I do have a Facebook page; just search for my name.
Any current info that any of you ladies would want to share with me about Medicare and SRS surgeons would be greatly appreciated.......

Welcome to Susan's Place. I don't see any problem with using a first name, that's what I did. The moderators can change your screen name so there is no need to create a new account. I am not going to be much help on surgeons because I had my surgery so long ago that my surgeon has passed away but there are many out there for you to work with.
Hi there girls
I'm just about accepting that after 40 plus years of being a so called male that I am truly a girl. Hope to hear from someone who can be a good listener and keep me sane and secure for a while. I have loads of issues and stuff but at least now I know that the root cause is gender identity. I've a bunch of life experience outside the gender issues so I hope that it won't all be a one way, me taking kind of interaction here. Hugs

Big warm welcome to Susan's Xena Christine
Congrats on the 8 years.
Sorry to hear that life has been a bit of a rollercoaster, but you certainly seem to have come through stronger for it.
I look forward to seeing you about the forum's

Welcome to Susan's, Xena. Congratulations on being out and open the past 8 years. I've lived openly for several years and have never been happier.
:)
Hi Xena Christine , welcome to Susan's Congrats on being out 8 years and having dealt with legal aspects of your transition. Those with medicare advantage plans I believe are able to get surgeons to take them for SRS, but I don't know of any doctor who excepts straight medicare. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs
