I am very new to all of this and decided a forum would be a good way to gather information. I am possibly an transmale, but I am still looking into it. I know that I have been struggling with this all the way back since elementary school when I always wished I was a boy, and I am 24 now. I constantly am depressed over situations around this and over trying to to gain a proper understanding about what I am going through. The more videos and information I look up about this, the more I seem to fit into it.
I always thought I was asexual because I had a 'flacid' effect even though I was completely interested which now I am just wondering if it is because I am equipped with all the wrong parts. I have only had a few 'fantasties', but every time they were with me 'equipped' differently.
I have noticed that even in writing I have always connected with male characters more, and despite struggling I could hardly find the inspiration to write female characters, and the 'like a girl' comments feel like they are stabbing me when I receive them. I also enjoyed cosplaying as men over women more often than not.
Coming out to my brother was easy, and my father would be an easy one to talk to about it as well, but my mother and sister worry me as being completely judgmental. I hope that through talking here with other people that I might be able to gain some more insight by people that have or are going through the same situation as me and be able to come to a better understanding of what I really need to do for myself.
Hi Jake, welcome to Susan's. Friends and family will surprise you sometimes. They don't always respond the way you think they will. It's wonderful to hear it was easy to come out to your brother. A therapist would be good at this point to help you sort through your feelings. Good luck and sharing with the rest of your family when your ready. I hope it goes as well as it did with your brother. Just take the time you need... but keep at it...
its a process... but many have done it and succeeded...
and, well, usually cis people do not question their gender, apart from a little curiousity of how it might be...
its your answers that count, so you might think about it...
you might try a few changes to hair and clothing style and see how it makes you feel...
well concerning knowing... sometimes we read something, or hear something, that sticks...
and after some listening to feelings there is a feeling inside...
concerning the fantasies and being equipped differently well you are not the only one :)

I'm glad to hear that. Thank you! And my brother has actually been going to goodwill with me, getting him dresses and me shirts from the mens section. (I still need to figure out my pants sizes in mens, but I'm so tiny that there isn't a lot unlike the selections in the women's section.) I was thinking of getting a binder at some point seeing as they are not that pricey. I am hoping that that can help a lot, and I have actually recently had my hair cut for locks of love, and I'll be cutting it a lot shorter myself with help from my step mom soon. (I used to have a pixie so that's nothing new to her at least.)
I already have a plan to see the school psychologist this Tuesday so I'm hoping that can shed a little more light on things or at least help me breath easier because all of this is starting to strongly affect my performance in my work and college grades.
