Title: Uterine Pain
Post by: StormOfThorns on September 14, 2015, 07:10:14 AM
Hi there. I've been on T for over a year. I am pre-surgery everything. The last couple of days I've noticed pain in my, erm, pelvic region. I am pretty sure it's ovarian sourced. Before I started T, I already has PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), where my periods were always irregular anyway. I do not have period anymore, but there seems to be some ebbing going in and out pain in my ovaries. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of thing? I've never had an exam before, something I am so scared to do. But if it comes to it... ugh! By the way, I live in Central Ohio. Near the Short North, Clintonville. Have any of you been to GYs before, and how was it? I'm kinda scared. It's not an emergercy thing, but it's noticeable when I move around, and sometimes it pulses with pain as I sit.  :eusa_silenced:

Can you feel anything out of the ordinary from the outside? Any swelling, hardness, spots that are more painful to touch? I'd call whoever is administering your testosterone and see what they recommend. If it's a GP, they may have you come in for an exam. Ask to be sedated for it, if you think you need it. If they can't/don't do it themselves, ask them to refer you to someone who is trans friendly or at least familiar with the concerns of trans patients.

And look on the bright side, if something's wrong, you've got medical necessity for a hysto? :-\

I struggled with pcos and endometriosis pretty much from the onset of my first puberty until this past November. My doc that prescribes my hormones said that most often going on T can help settle some of that down, but not everyone. I was one of those that didn't have it settle down. I had pain that mimicked my pcos pain of pressure in the ovary area regardless of the T and not having periods. At my 1 year check in for the T, my doc recommended I see an Ob doc to see what they recommended. I went to a gyn/ob and since I had had plenty of work ups in the past (ultrasounds, CTs, and two laparoscopies to remove endometriosis and large cysts) she said she would just proceed with doing the hysterectomy since I planned to stay on hormones for life. So in a way, I was "lucky" in that I had a medical reason for my hysterectomy. Since I recovered from that, I have been pain free :)

I do second getting it checked out though. It is uncomfortable, but you don't want to let a potential problem go for long.
