Title: Job interviews, good and bad
Post by: iKate on September 17, 2015, 02:42:11 PM
My LinkedIn has been attracting a few opportunities. I have almost 20 years of experience in my field and I won't be bragging to say that I am pretty good at what I do.

There was one thing that really made my day though even though I did not get the job.

The interviewer gave feedback to the recruiter, and said, "She is very personable, very well spoken and sounds like she would fit in well with company culture. I enjoyed interviewing her. Unfortunately we were looking for a more junior level person."

In other words they want someone on the cheap. Meh. But I did like that my personality did not come off as abrasive or turning off people. I always try to be pleasant and very clear in explaining things.

Don't be disappointed. Try again and again. It is a life.

I'm not, really. I am really not seriously searching. I was just trying out the search for a future search to get a feel for how I am doing interviewing.

I am confident enough that I can interview for jobs as my real self now. This is something I was always nervous about.
