Title: Foot growth on T?
Post by: Muscle Matt on September 18, 2015, 04:57:46 PM
I'm curious how much foot growth to expect going on T. I know everyone's different, and some people get growth while others don't (the first guy I talked to at a clinic looked like he was wearing children's shoes). But for those who do get growth, just how much did your feet grow?

I ask not because I anticipate growth, but because I've already had enough foot growth in my life and I'm just hoping I don't have to expect too much more. x.x

My feet before I started DHEA were a size 10.5. Now they're a size 11.5 wide. Even as a 10.5 my feet were about the average size for a guy my height (when guys see how big my feet are they always want to compare). Now I'm on the larger size of average and it's almost impossible to find my actual size. Shoe shopping has always been a nightmare for me. The fact that they grew so much on LOW-DOSE DHEA makes me really kinda worried about what T has in store for my feet...

My counselor complimented my shoes the other day, and I told her they don't even fit, and she's like, "Oh, don't worry, they will one day," and I had to tell her, "No, they're actually too small."

I know most guys would consider it a blessing, but in all honesty, I frequently trip over my feet going up stairs. And also flat surfaces.

You could routinely go looking for shoes. Like before its absolutely necessary. And if you find a pair that is a really good fit you might take two  :)

Well its just a matter of getting used to it... after a few months the tripping should stop...
its quite common for people who still grow... just take your time  :)

I use to wear 6 1/2 mens and I am now around a 7-7 1/2. I just bought shoes the other day and they killed my feet today. I think I just have to break them in though :P

Something we have to learn is when we walk is to put our next step in front of the last. If you are a male, draw a line on the ground and when you walk your feet should never cross the line to the other side. That helps prevent tripping over your own feet. Most people don't pay much attention to how a male walks but the wrong walk on a female stands out as much as sitting with your legs spread in a skirt.  ;D

If they are too small you might take them to a shoemaker...
they usually have a tool to make them half a size or one size larger.

I work 50-60 hours a week and barely have time to grocery shop every two weeks, but when I'm around shoe stores I always make an attempt to look. My last pair of good shoes, I bought when they were too big, and now I've outgrown them. I've been looking for months and can't find anything. I think I'm going to have to go through the grueling task of finding the right shoe online (my ex has big feet and can only shop for shoes this way, and it involves a LOT of buying and returning).

And I've been tripping on my feet my whole life. It's not because of the new growth. They're just big and clunky on me. :/

I never thought of a shoemaker before, that's always an idea. Can they widen shoes or just make it the next size up? I've been buying a size 12 cuz I can't find anything in a wide size, and they have a lot more toe room but still squeeze in a good bit on the sides (this problem also doesn't help with the stairs). If I can find someone who can make an 11.5 a wide, then that might be the best I can do. (Have any idea what a shoemaker charges for that?)

You might have a look online at used ones.
Sometimes people use shoes only once or twice, for example if they were gifted.
You might have a look at the reputation of the seller.

Shoemakers kind of make the leather wet and use some special tools, which can make shoes bigger and / or wider.
You might ask, it also probably depends on the shoe and its materials.
Half a size or a size might be possible.
Its not much which is usually charged.
You might ask or look at the phone book, sometimes retired shoemakers offer a service.

Concerning sizes, one possibility is to go half a size or a size bigger and use inlays.
There are organic inlays, made of soft materials, which can also be warm and comfortable.

I know the struggle of big feet. I wear an 8 now, but I'm really short. If my height were proportional to my feet, I would be several inches taller. Before starting T I was a 7, now I'm an 8 and I don't think my feet are completely done growing yet. I'm still tripping over things, I've been tripping on my own feet since like the 4th grade. My feet growth honestly never fully stopped, but it was almost stopped when I started T. My feet are now one size smaller than my dad's, but my dad is I believe 6 inches taller than I am.
