Could anybody speak on their experiences if they've switched from weekly to biweekly shots?
I've always had the option to do it, and am considering it now that I'm coming up on a year. I'm not so much worried about mood, but I am concerned about acne getting worse and changes slowing down. I'm sure the first two weeks would be a bit of a balancing act as my body gets used to the shift, but beyond that - is there any noticeable difference that people have experienced?
I was on bi-weekly injections and switched to weekly for two reasons. The first was that it was getting hard to find the dosage for the bi-weekly injection and second, I was getting mood swings (basically PMS) and hot flashes a day or two prior to my next injection. My doctor switch me to half the strength/mL but weekly, so I am getting the same amount, but it's spread out more. Now I don't get PMS nearly as much, and if I due it's the night before or the morning of my injection.
Thank you Sydney!
I think I'll give it a shot a month before my next round of blood work to see if it makes any difference with my levels. My doctor said I could just double my dose and go biweekly whenever, so I'll just have to try it out and see if it makes me feel any different or changes my lab results in a significant way.
I can't speak specifically for going from weekly to biweekly, but I did try going the opposite direction. I do my shots biweekly and tried to go weekly, and it completely screwed with my mood. I've never had a single mood issue or any issue for that matter, on what is considered the standard "full dose".
At over 9 month on T, I imagine your changes are slowing down anyways, switching to biweekly won't cause them to go slower. I don't have terrible acne, I get some pimples here and there on my chin, and my back, but then again I had basically perfect skin before testosterone and rarely got so much as a blackhead before. (I miss that lol)
I personally prefer biweekly because it's just that less often that you have to mess with doing your shot.. It was exciting at first but it loses its thrill after awhile haha.
I'm trying to go the opposite direction as well, trying to go weekly from bi-weekly because of acne problem and mood/energy issue. I do my shots every other Monday, and around the Wednesday before my next shot, I would started to feel lower energy and really edgy. I still do bi-weekly shots until my next endo appointment next week tho. Hopefully she'll increase my dose (i'm on less than half of what's consider regular dose) and switch to weekly.
I switched fairly early on from every other week to weekly shots. On every other week, I was super moody and felt physically sick and had hot flashes a few days before my shots. Going to weekly shots really helped stabilize my mood and got rid of the weird side effects. I have also went from half of standard dose to standard dose and now am on about 4/5 of standard dose. It definitely depends on the person as to what works for them. I don't think your effects will increase or slow down when you change the frequency.
