Title: Foreskin restoration prior to SRS?
Post by: kellb on September 23, 2015, 05:50:06 AM
Now, I know that some ladies here would rather not have anything to do with that thing they were born with, but I'm curious what people think about the prospect of using foreskin restoration techniques (called 'tugging') post circumcision increase the amount of free skin available for SRS.

Like many, I was unfortunately mutilated as a baby and they rather botched the job, leaving me with very little free skin.  Now that I'm wanting a bottom transition, I've no idea how even an expert surgeon could be able to give me more than a token depth.

I've looked into the prospects of using a tugging device to try to promote more skin growth.  While you may be skeptical (as I was), foreskin restoration does actually appear to be a thing - it just takes a long time.  Since I'm likely to have some wait before I could get bottom surgery, it seems like I might as well make use of it!

Anyone have any experience or thoughts?

You really can't look at your self and go ok I have a 3 inch penis I'll get 3 inch depth. Skin grafts will sort you out. Try not to worry about it

Well its up to you.
There are skin grafts and maybe one day some new methods like vaginas from a lab.

On the other hand foreskin is supposed to have a lot of nerve endings, so its supposed to be sensitive.
If this adds some and is something you would like to do is up to you.

I don't *think* foreskin restoration can restore the mucosal tissue and nerve endings that used to be there, either.

But with that said, North American surgeons in particular are used to working with circumcised patients, and nearly always get them decent depth - I was circumcised and have perfectly adequate depth without a skin graft (which is also an option).

Thai surgeons dont use the penil skin for depth, it's used for external structures like the minor labia. That might be something worth considering.

Here is some more info:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreskin_restoration

Foreskin restoration can be attempted for several reasons, among them being a desire to create the appearance of a natural foreskin (prepuce) covering the glans, or to increase sexual sensitivity of the glans and the interior of the restored foreskin, or to reduce discomfort due to exposure of sensitive areas during everyday activities.

I was circumcised as a child and the doctor was able to provide 5.5 inches of depth which I still have today. From what I understand, that is plenty of depth and I have nothing to worry about. If you have a special problem, the doctors will do skin grafts and as some doctors are better at it than others, you will want to pick your doctor carefully. At this point, I wouldn't worry about it until you start your search for a doctor.
