Hi all. Just wondering if someone could help me out with using the forum? If I post on someone's topic, is there some way that I get notified when new posts are added without adding a bookmark to the topic?
Currently I just add the topic to my bookmarks and keep checking back to see if there is a little "NEW" flag to know there are new posts. I get a pop up notification if someone sends me a personal message, is there a similar feature for topics I have participated in?
Thanks, I'm a little challenged when it comes to navigating forums. :-\

It's very simple. In the upper left hand corner of your screen under your name you will se show new replies to your new post. Any time you post to a thread without hitting the notify, you will receive a notification from the thread. You only need to use the notify button if you want to monitor a thread without posting to it.
Thanks Dena. Nice and simple. Just clicked on the link and found a new reply waiting. Good to know what the notify button does too. :)
I never knew that either. I find the forums a bit of a mystery.
I started using this software in 2001 but this form has a few more goodies in it. As a moderator there are a few more buttons you don't want to press because they can do bad things. I found the area under the name, Recent topics and My messages to be the most useful items on the form. As long as you don't want to create new threads, you can work the web site all day with that limited area of the page.
Hi Dena, I think that I didn't notice those links because they don't look like links. They are the same color as normal text and nothing much happens when you put the mouse over the top of them, unlike the main links horizontally from "Home" to the "Logout".
Since I'm on the subject I use Recent Topics as my main way of looking at posts, but its not long enough to go a complete day, so I miss stuff. I'm here almost every day, but not 24 hours a day (fortunately).
Under your name in the upper left hand corner there is "Show unread post since last visit". That will give you a much longer history that Recent Topics. On the other hand, sometimes it seems like I am here 24 hours a day. At least my boss promised to double my pay this week. ;D
