My 7th day of low-dose estradiol, I am feeling firmness and occasional visible puffiness in the base of my nipples.
Is this normal?
My E is low by itself, so not using any blockers. But I didn't think a low dose regimen would produce anything like that so quickly.
Marlee results due very person to person so it is possible. It's not what I had happen when I started with the low dose and no blockers at first, but again MMV. Hugs
Mariah
Hi Marlee,
Mariah is right. Everyone responds differently. Let me start off by saying I am 58 years old. I started on the lowest possible dose of spironolactone and finasteride June 30th. I could not detect any changes. Six weeks later, my endo upped the spiro and finasteride dose, and added a low dose estradiol patch. This time I noticed an definite increase in fullness in my pectoral region (I won't call them breasts just yet). After another six weeks, my endo doubled the spiro and estradiol dose. I haven't noticed any increase in fullness, but my nipples are definitely getting bigger. No change in the areolar region, though, and no tenderness, or breast buds. I started estradiol on August 13th, so it hasn't even been two full months. However, I am noticing a lot of peach fuzz and hair regrowth in my scalp after three full months on finasteride, which is wonderful. (I have about a Norwood type IV male pattern baldness.)
Patience, girlfriend! We will get there!
Thanks Mariah :)
it was only causing a little concern, since I'd never heard of this happening before a few months, and typically under higher doses and other methods of administration (I am just taking a pill each day) Perhaps I'm a bit predisposed LOL

That's inspiring maybebaby:)
I'm about a Norwood IV myself (though opt to shave it all off) I may still be relegated to a life of wigs though (but I love the options that presents too:)
Congratulations on starting HRT. It is a good sign that you have puffiness on low dose and everyone is different. Good luck :)
I don't know about normal, but it's definitely possible. I started on super low dose E and no blockers (a low enough dose that people say it "can't have any effect beyond psychological") and had visible changes and soreness by day 5. I was just looking back at the progress pictures I took back then, and yes, there really *is* a little bit of change in the first week. (I had gynecomastia going in, so there was some genuine glandular growth even before I started HRT, which seems to have given me a head start.)
I don't think speed equates with final size - I think we get what we're going to get, regardless of how fast the changes happen - but immediate responsiveness *can* suggest that you're going to be a fast developer. :) In which case, you might want to be sure you're prepared for that; I had to come out earlier than I planned at work when I hit a C cup at month 3.
Congratulations, Marlee, for joining the E Class of 2015! I too had a little nipple puffiness after a week, but it seems to have subsided.

I'm on low-dose estradiol as well, for about two weeks. What happens if you're on estrogen only, and not any spiro?
Kanda : Well, Marlee and I are both on E only and no blockers (=no spiro). :)

I hear you there. I'm on day 17 and just about a b cup. I was thinking I'd have a good 6 to 8 months before I came out at work. I'm not so sure I've got that long...
It took 3 weeks for me to get to that stage. I found even that to be alarmingly fast...
Almost four months and about an AA cup here. >_> I wear a b-cup pushup though with like a full cup (or more) padding, hehe. It gives me a size proportionate to my frame. My dosage is still pretty low though.
