I'm on estradiol and I have some questions about weight loss. I'm 35 and overweight. Right now, I have some belly fat/spare tire and some chest fat that I can squeeze together for some nice cleavage. I'm starting to get serious about portion control and cutting out snacking, as well as some pretty intense bike rides (800-2500 calories burned depending on the ride length!) I understand that fat gain starts getting redistributed to the face, hips, and chest on HRT, but what about fat loss? Since I've had all that fat before HRT, will I lose it all over, or will I maintain it in the feminine areas?
I have lost weight both on and off HRT. At around the same weight loss point I found these differences.
- waist size had gotten to about the same size.
- Hips and bust were about 2 inches larger on HRT.
- Neck and arms got smaller.
- since the weight dropped but hips and bust stayed larger I assume there was some muscle loss, but I haven't done anything that makes me notice that.
Overall, with 35 lbs weight loss everything on me got smaller as expected but the loss was in a different pattern than without HRT.

Everyone is different, so what happens to me may not happen to you.
I gained 25 pounds on hrt and have lost 15 or more of those pounds. I lost nothing in the bust or hips and my tummy is decreasing.
I have had to exercise a lot and change my eating from healthy to super healthy. I did 44 floors of steps, a little over 5 miles walking and ran about 1 of the 5 miles today.
Pre HRT losing weight was easier ( I had a lot more muscle) and I could do it with less exercise and it was quicker. My tummy was the last to lose then when now it is first.
I'm losing weight right now and just started HRT. The way I see it, I'm not only losing the unwanted fat, but also toxins stored in the body fat as well as extra estrogens as a bonus. This will also eliminate the male pattern fat storage. I'll be starting with a clean canvas.
