Title: HRT Concerns
Post by: Ellone on October 06, 2015, 06:14:06 PM
Hello, gorgeous ladies~

I'm relatively new here and was sort of specifically targeting some of the ladies on here to answer a few of my concerns regarding my hormone regimen.

Firstly, a little back story: I'm a 22 year old Trans Woman. I plan to remain Non-op with my only planned surgery being a Orchiectomy and possible Breast Augmentation if I'm not satisfied with the results after my post op date. I'm already very much 'passing' and at peace with myself in regards to my looks, so I have no plans for FFS. I've been on HRT for roughly over a month now and just had a few concerns regarding the Medroxyprogesterone (sub: Provera) my doctor has prescribed me. Basically, I wanted to have some sort of insight from any women on here who have had experiences with this drug, and if it was relatively effective in regards to their HRT. This doctor has worked aside about 5 trans women, and convinced me this was the best approach that he personally found most effective treating these women. My regimen currently is (which is subject to change cause I literally just went in for my first blood check up since starting, like, three days ago) Estradiol through the transdermal patches at which I wear about every Wednesday up till Saturday and repeat (again this is subject to change) and the Medroxyprogesterone. I read through a couple resources online that the Progesterone was really not as effective in comparison to the more popular anti androgens such as Spironolactone. Just wondering if I should voice my concerns to him, or just put my trust into what he's doing. So far I've been seeing a lot of ->-bleeped-<- happen tbh. Such as intense fat distribution/I've been able to keep a steady weight for the first time in my life. I last weighed in at about 108 lbs at 5'9 and now I'm at 120lbs and haven't lost (which is amazing). And my nipples specifically are getting so huge, and are constantly hard (I'd know since my nipples were almost none existent prior to all of this). As for skin--I've always had soft/thin skin with minimal hair issues, so I can't really tell if that's different. As for my sex drive--slight change, nothing /huge/ I still have sex with my (cisgender male) partner about once or twice everyday with no problems regarding getting 'stiff', or having an orgasm. (honestly, the orgasms have been really great lately).

Anywhooo--before I keep on rambling--thank you so much for your time and read and really appreciate any input you ladies could provide me with.

My deepest appreciation - Ellone~

Mod Edit. No dosages please TOS 8.

Hi Ellone, welcome to Susan's. I'm sorry but dosages are against TOS. It is best to ask your doctor in regards to HRT and what is best. I look forward to seeing you around the forums. Good luck and Hugs
Mariah
