Title: Peecock Continues to have Rip Issues
Post by: maxman on October 06, 2015, 09:01:51 PM
Hi everyone. It is saddening to me that I have to report this to you all.

My original peecock gen 2 ripped and the company provided little support on the matter, accusing me of damaging it and being quite unhelpful about the situation before eventually not responding.

When the gen 3S came out, I emailed them and now that I'm a product tester, they were eager to please me and sent me one to try. It ripped in the exact same way within a day. They were eager to resolve it for about 48 hours, then when I said I was not paying to ship it back to singapore for them to examine, they stopped responding all together and I haven't been able to get a hold of them for 3 weeks or more.

I'm overall disappointed in the product's lack of durability (I simply wore it for a few days in the harness they provided) and the company's consistent inability to stand by their products.

Full review and pictures on my blog if you'd like to see more (link in signature).

I would just like to bump this post and say that I have been trying to reach Peecock after I bought a 3S from them and it ripped because of their harness. They have refused to email me back about it and I am extremely upset about this because this was a serious investment. I assumed that their harness would be safe for their prosthetic but they are not an honest enough company to do that unfortunately.

I picked Peecock because I had not seen negative reviews, but I had for Freetom. Now I wish I had just went for a Freetom, because I know they at least listen and fix the issues when customers brought them up. Peecock refuses to acknowledge the flaws in the products.

I'm sorry to hear that, but Freetom wouldn't have been a garantue either sadly. They both seem to be a gamble these days.

At the very least, freetom offers a fix-it kit that I could have used, had this happened to their product

To be honest, the fact that they offer one makes me uncertain of them haha. I get what it's for, but we're talking about tears which should fall under somesort of garantue. I've read some long and tiring conversations with the Freetom staff where they circle around and deny the problem. Someone with less determination would have stopped arguing and accepted a waste of money. (fortunally there's always Paypal if you used it)

It's a sad thing Peecock have gone down the wrong path too though. My Gen2 has gone through a lot of wear and abuse and I still wear it everyday. I think I might have it for 3 years now.

Unfortunately this issue with Peecock isn't one or two people, nearly every person I've seen whose used their "compatible" harness with the 3s has developed rips, along with other guy's prosthetics developing rips without using the harness. I hope they fix this issue, and send out people replacements because this is unacceptable. Nathan, I have found post after post about FreeToM having terrible customer service ever since their move. I really hope they rectify this problem soon because my experience with them was very positive, but then again that was before the move and I had no issues with my prosthetic. Here's hoping they get it sorted.

An update:
I've finally heard back from peecock. They're giving me some crap about how they've sold the peecock and the harness together hundreds of times and there's only 5 cases of the peecock ripping, and 2 were improper use, so they won't do anything about it except give me a 50% off my next purchase. Which doesn't matter because I'm not going to buy anything if it's going to break.
With the number of reviews I've seen of it tearing, either nobody reports it to peecock or they're feeding me some bullcrap. Either way I am really mad because they essentially accused me of using it wrong when I made very sure to follow their directions exactly. They're refusing to acknowledge that their products aren't compatible. It sounds to me like they might be ignoring the differences in the old peecocks versus the new ones.

I'm really sorry to hear that, sounds to me like the product is just a bust and they need to improve it. I'll be issuing a warning for Peecock and FreeToM because this is getting a little ridiculous. Before I read your post I saw two more guys having issues with FreeToM's customer service, one guy hoping threatening a paypal dispute will get him the product he payed for. My heart goes out to all the guys that are having trouble with these companies, here's hoping they get it together.
