I am wondering and also worried of how my areola will be affected by hrt considering they are allready quite large for a starting point.
I would like to know about your experience . I am currently at 1.6 inch diameter and i am not fat(149lbs). i am a little worried as ive heard they can go up to 4x the size and for me that would be wayyy to large

2 years in and mine are 2 to a little more than I started, they are about 2.5.. now the nipples never grew, I'm using progesterone and a stretching technique and they are growing finally.. right now things look proportionate.. hopefully they get bigger to match the surgery I'm planning next year:)
I was watching botched last night, the first episode this season, and they were shrinking oversized ones on these playmate twins.. I guess some enlargements can cause the to explode too..

Mine's kind of huge. I didn't measure it before I started, but I'd guess 3+ times now.
Mine are small and pink. They changed very little only fading in color and getting just a little bigger.
Mine didn't change; however, my nipples grew very large. I'm thinking about getting some permanent makeup to increase the size of my areolas.

Don't know your age, but guessing you are young, under 30? If you have breast augmentation, they may grow.. I don't like promoting things, but watch a show called botched. It aired last night about these twins I mentioned.. they are 25 now and had some procedure that made their areolas grow too big.. I bet just give it time with e, maybe some p, and things will grow:)

It's funny how this is sounds advice for so many things in this community!
I certainly hope it rings true. Mine are tiny even by boy standards :-\
I had quite small ones pre hrt and here just past six months they have softened in tone and texture. The tips have gotten a bit bigger. Overall diameter has gone up by half an inch. I am hoping for more...
Mine grew a bit, they are 2x the size they were but still small. However on P they are erect again and itching and they seem to have grown a bit, the areoles have definitely grown.

I've been on HRT for 13 years, and have already had breast augmentation, so I'm pretty sure my areolas are done growing.
thanks for awnsers. My "issue", well i guess it is not one anymore since im on E is probably due to the fact that i was allready exposed to hormonal imbalance. The lab result ( first time i was doing a deep test) showed that i had 136 pg/ml estrogen level and 28 ng/ml of prolactin. Endocrinologist asked if i ever took estrogen before with ?? on both his eyes lol. I guess the development came from that. It looks like they arent done from taking size because there is some new pink color that is fading after my darker areola.
feeling a little scared of what will happen with E now. i hope the breast will catch up
I think it probably depends, in part, on whether that starting point was "typical" for a guy or not. (Also obviously there are cis women with big breasts and small areolae, cis women with small breasts and huge areolae, and everything in between...)
It's funny, because I was just recently looking back at the pictures I took for the first 2 years on HRT. I had tiny areolae to start with, even though I had visible gynecomastia with actual breast tissue; I'd say they were maybe a half inch across when I went on HRT. At the end of 18 months, they were at most twice that size. Then I stopped paying attention... and when I compared just now, at coming up on 6 years HRT, they're probably 2" across or 4x the starting size. They've also turned darker and pinker in color, and the nipples are noticeably larger as well. Still, again, if you're reasonably large to start with you may have a much less dramatic change, since that seems to be the rule with HRT - the farther from the female norm a given feature is, the more drastically estrogen can change it.

Wow, I was off on that.. I thought I found a pattern there, but biology always has to throw a change to keep evolution going. Sorry, I thought I had a solution for you. It was just perfect timing seeing that episode yesterday sure matched you description.. that procedure could expand that tissue by itself, but I wouldn't ask for it since it sounds painful.. if it was done with the augmentation you already have, you would never have noticed the pain if you had them enlarged via the areola rather than from the armpit.. good luck with the tatoo. it should work, but "ouch!"

I wish I would of measured them pre. I think they might be bigger but I haven't the slightest idea
I am almost 6 years into HRT. My areolas doubled in size and my nipples swelled to about 3 to 4 times their original size.
taking the nipple growth into account, my areolas dont look like they have grown much.

Have you contemplated tattooing them ?
I've always been a bit gynocomastic and my nips a tad (2x) larger then the average males. I cannot say beyond "perhaps a little more" is all HRT, either low or feminizing doses did. I doubt my E was ever high considering all the other, you cannot get any more male, secondary sex characteristics I got hit with starting at the age of 12 to 14
Mine became about 2-3x bigger, maybe 4x lol and they turned a very dark brown and are sometimes black (like on the first day of my injection week) Their color was like a tannish pink before hrt. My nipples have also grown but I can't say by how much, they are a lot bigger than they were prehrt and super sensitive. Sometimes I do wear a bra due to my nips being more sensitive on certain days.
Before HRT my nipples and aerola where already bigger then a cis males due to having a naturally high estrogen level but after a nearly 2 months of HRT my aerola have slightly gotten bigger but my nipples are 2x the size they were. Also before HRT my nipples were near sensitive nor would they ever become for a lack of better word hard, but now both those things have changed.
I just looked it up on Wikipedia and it says, "The average diameter of male areolae is around 28.0 mm (1.1 in). Sexually mature women have an average of 38.1 mm (1.5 in), but sizes range up to 100 mm (4 in) or greater."
Mine are right at 1.5 in so I guess I'm average now. I have no idea what they measured before HRT.

Mine are 1.57 inches and I guess they doubled. I think my nipple length doubled as well as diameter.
wow 15 days in never thought to measure them
ok for refernece 2.4 cm across, 3.1 vertical and both scarily identical ( whooo hooo ) be interesting to see where they end up
